SanDisk sues companies for Patent infringement : SanDisk announced the filing of three patent infringement actions against 25 companies that manufacture, sell and import USB flash drives, CompactFlash memory cards, multimedia cards, MP3 media players and other removable flash storage products. The actions, filed in the United States District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin and in the United States International Trade Commission (“ITC”), allege that the defendants have infringed various SanDisk system-level patents, and seek damages and a permanent injunction in the federal court actions, as well as a permanent exclusion order from the ITC banning importation of the products into the United States.

SanDisk attracts new legal management president : SanDisk Corporation announced the appointment of Jim Brelsford as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Brelsford brings many years of technology industry experience that includes a diverse spectrum of roles in legal affairs and business development. In addition, he has worked closely with businesses and boards of directors on strategic, operational and compliance matters. “SanDisk has a growing portfolio of products, businesses and intellectual properties that require strong legal leadership,” said Bruner. “Jim will use his extensive experience to provide that direction and leverage our opportunities to maximize growth.”


SanDisk opens flash memory plant in China

SanDisk opens flash memory plant in China : SanDisk Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of flash storage card products, announced the opening of its production facility in Shanghai, the company’s first in the People’s Republic of China. Based in Zizhu Industrial-based Science Park, SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (SDSS) is expected to play a critical role in SanDisk’s worldwide operations as the plant will focus on the assembly and test of its advanced flash memory products for mobile and other consumers in markets worldwide. SanDisk’s worldwide operations function will also reside at the Shanghai facility. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the flash memory facility.
