Samsung S85 : Samsung Cameras announced the release of the Samsung S85 digital camera featuring an 8.2 Megapixel image sensor and a super-sharp 5x optical zoom lens, combined with other innovative features. The Samsung S85 includes Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition Technology, which detects the subject’s face, automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure better composition and image quality in portraits. The AF function instantaneously recognizes the faces of subjects and accurately focuses on them. The AE function then takes over, setting the appropriate exposure to ensure the highest image quality. The Samsung S85 will be available from the end of August 2007 at a price of €175.

Samsung 1.8-inch 64GB SSD mass producing : Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, announced that it has begun mass producing 1.8-inch solid state drives (SSD) at 64GB (gigabytes) - the highest density SSD available today for mobile computing applications. "We see sharply increasing interest in SSDs among OEMs worldwide amid a growing push to launch premium SSD-based notebooks, particularly in the ultra-mobile category," said Jim Elliott, director, flash marketing, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. SSDs feature far greater reliability, faster boot times and faster application start-up times than hard disk drives. SSD can also improve battery life by up to 20 percent in notebooks.

Samsung MagicNet displays at InfoComm Trade Show : Samsung Electronics America, a manufacturer of professional LCD and plasma display products, introduced MagicNet Pro Displays, the next generation of Samsung's proprietary MagicNet software designed for corporate and commercial digital signage applications. A selection of Samsung's display portfolio, including the MagicNet Pro-enabled DXn series (Samsung 400DXn, Samsung 460DXn, Samsung 570DXn and the Samsung 820DXn MagicNet monitor), will be on display in the Samsung Electronics America booth, #8400, at the Anaheim Convention Center, June 19-21. The Samsung MagicNet Pro enabled DXn series will be available in August through Samsung resellers and distribution channels.
