Ricoh GR Digital 2 Digital Camera Preview : Two years have already passed since Ricoh digitalized the famous GR camera and introduced the GR Digital. In September 2005 I received a pre-production model of the Ricoh GR Digital and now, two years later, the successor lies in front of me: the Ricoh GR Digital II. Over the past few years many hundreds of new digital cameras have been introduced and to say that each and every one of them is a unique piece, would be exaggerated. The majority of these digital cameras belongs to the compact camera category and these cameras offer more or less the same functions and quality compared with each other. Once in a blue moon a camera will stand out and boost on a unique concept. Read the full Ricoh GR Digital II preview!

Ricoh GX100 digital camera review : Many photographers dream of a compact digital camera with a fine zoom range, including a true wide-angle, one that gives a high resolution and can also store images in RAW. Until recently this remained just a dream. But fortunately there is the opinionated Ricoh, who seems to make the dream come true. With the DIWA Gold Award rewarded GR Digital, Ricoh already has an exceptional camera with a fine wide-angle and RAW support. The Ricoh Caplio GX100 takes it a step further: more wide-angle, more pixels and an optical zoom including image stabilization. What more can a photographer ask for? We have tested the GX100 in our test lab, to explore if the camera truly lives up to the expectations.

Ricoh Caplio GX100 test photos : We have had the new Ricoh Caplio GX100 camera in the office for some days and visited the Keukenhof in Lisse, the Netherlands, to shoot some test images. The Ricoh GX100 was introduced in March 2007 and is like its predecessor - the Ricoh Caplio GX8 - an unique digital compact camera. The Ricoh Caplio GX100 is equipped with a ten Megapixel CCD image sensor, a f/2.5 bright zoom lens with a focal range of 24 - 70mm. Additional the beautiful wide-angle of 24mm can be expanded via the optional Ricoh DW-6 wide-angle converter. With it, it becomes a 19mm super wide-angle! Unfortunately this accessory was not available at this moment, but I expect to make some extra shots with such a combination very soon.
