Canon PowerShot G9 Review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-12-04 20:05:00
Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera review : Sometimes manufacturers actually listen to testers and users of digital cameras. In any case Canon did when developing the PowerShot G7. A terrific camera except for one minus; no RAW format was available and especially the photographer wanting a compact camera besides his DSLR was disappointed. But the successor, the Canon PowerShot G9, does offer RAW format making this top compact camera a very interesting one for the demanding and the professional photographer. Adding RAW format is not the only thing Canon has changed on the G9. The Canon G9 is now equipped with a new image sensor with 12 million pixels.

Mark Peters : 2007-12-03 14:19:31
Canon PowerShot S5 review at PhotographyBLOG : DIWA Awards member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBLOG has reviewed the Canon PowerShot S5 IS Megazoom camera. The Canon Powershot S5 camera features Super Macro mode with 0cm shooting distance and optional Close-Up lens 500D (58mm) allow for detailed macro photography. Safety Zoom allows users to extend the camera's zoom range without interpolation affecting image quality - images can be captured at up to 24x zoom with enough resolution for lab-quality postcard (10 x 15cm) prints. Photographers can also enable the Digital Tele-Converter3 feature for added telephoto reach (1.6x or 2.0x) on every shot, without the reduction in aperture typically caused by optical tele-converters.

Nikon S500 review at Photoxels

Mark Peters : 2007-12-03 13:52:16
Nikon S500 review at Photoxels : DIWA member Yin Wong from Photoxels has reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S500 digital compact camera. The Nikon S500 features proven lens shift VR (Vibration Reduction) technology originally developed for interchangeable lenses used with Nikon SLR camera systems. Nikon's exclusive VR system provides the ability to shoot at shutter speeds as much as three steps slower without blurring the image, helping to overcome camera shake and stabilize shots of unsteady subjects. The Nikon Coolpix S500 powers up in an impressive 0.8 seconds and has a practically imperceptible shutter release time lag of less than 0.005 seconds. High-ISO automatically sets the optimal ISO and works with VR (Vibration Reduction).

Olympus E-3 Hands-On Review in Istanbul Turkey

Dennis Hissink : 2007-11-28 14:04:00
Olympus E-3 Hands-On Review : Not even 3 weeks after returning from my trip to Kenya, where I attended the EOS Safari on the invitation of Canon, I found the next invitation on my digital doormat. This time it concerned an invitation from Olympus to Istanbul, Turkey, for the introduction of the long expected successor of the E1 to the press. Journalists from all over the world were flown into Turkey in groups to join the ten day event. Besides a number of Dutch colleagues, the Belgian and English press were also present during my stay. Upon our arrival at Istanbul's Atatürk airport a bus took us to the famous Topkapi palace. A guide gave us a tour through this beautiful cultural heritage and we were able to visit a few sections. Canon IXUS 860IS review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-11-25 21:00:00
Canon IXUS 860 IS review : Canon decided to introduce their new assortment of digital cameras for the second half of the year in August 2007. A new IXUS was one of the many cameras that got added to the Canon compact camera line; the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS. There is no stopping the success of the IXUS and Canon know how to continuously and rapidly renew or at least add to the IXUS assortment with improved specifications. The Canon IXUS 860 IS camera is a successor to the IXUS 850 and is more or less a logical upgrade. The biggest changes compared to its predecessor are obvious in one glance when you take a look at the rear of the camera. The large 3-inch sized monitor covers approximately 70% of the back.

HP Photosmart R937 digital camera review : During HP labs event in Lisbon every participant received a digital compact camera to play with for one week. Of course this is an ideal way to get acquainted with the latest top model of the American brand. Certainly an experience that asked for more, so right after this we requested a model to put to the test and to offer you an extensive HP Photosmart R937 review. One of the extraordinary features on the HP R937 camera is its touch screen. Of course HP are not the first to apply a touch screen but it being such a huge screen is a unique experience. It should not surprise anyone that HP is offering a touch screen. The brand is aiming at the consumer.
