Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 review : In the beginning of 2007, Panasonic invited the world press to come and admire their new range of digital cameras in Paris. The new series of Lumix cameras includes the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8. This new model succeeds the popular Lumix FZ7 and is Panasonic's newest Mega zoom digital camera. From the outside, the Panasonic Lumix FZ8 is pretty similar to its predecessor. The real changes have taken place inside the camera. The most striking difference is the upgrade from 6 to 7 Megapixels and the option for recording favorite moments in both JPEG and RAW format.

Panasonic’s technological breakthrough allows a robust MOS image sensor for use under harsh sunlight for more than 20 years. The Panasonic SDR-S10 camcorder features water-resistant and dust-proof construction without any moving parts in its image capturing and storage process. The lightweight, compact Panasonic SDR-S10 is equipped with a 10x optical zoom, quick-start technology, and a 2.7" wide LCD. It will ship with a 2GB SD Card capable of holding up to 100 minutes of video (LP mode). The new Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm/ F3.5-5.6 ASPH./ Mega O.I.S., lens offers an exceptionally long zoom range of 14-150mm (35mm equivalent: 28-300mm) and complies with the Four Thirds System to assure wide compatibility with other camera models. The new Leica D Summilux 25mm/F1.4 lens (35mm equivalent: 50mm) is a bright, large-diameter F1.4 standard lens. It incorporates an aperture ring and boasts as many as 10 lens elements in 9 groups, including a large-diameter aspherical lens, which assure a superb optical performance and F1.4 brightness, while one super ED (extra-low dispersion) lens and three ED lenses reduce color bleeding to an absolute minimum.

Wide format photography gets popular : Epson and Panasonic have teamed up to address the growing demand in the Middle East for true 16:9 format cameras, printers and photo paper by introducing new products to meet the needs of photographers who want to shoot, view and print in 16:9 format which brings wider breadth and deeper perspective into the picture. While Panasonic has introduced its Lumix LX2 digital camera to feature a 16:9 CCD sensor and LCD screen, Epson is launching Premium Glossy Photo Paper 16:9 that features a smooth, bright white resin-coated layer for a vibrant high-gloss finish. The photo paper is compatible with a range of Epson printers including the new Epson PictureMate PM 240 and PictureMate PM 280.

Panasonic Lumix TZ3 sample images : From Amsterdam to Paris is just a couple of hours away, but the new Lumix line-up I was introduced to during the Panasonic Global Press conference in Paris, was another milestone for the Panasonic camera division. An impressive number of ten digital camera's were unveiled and one of them, the Panasonic TZ3, I took with me to Versailles to test it in the field. I have to remind you that the images of the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 are still a pre-production level, not final level! The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is a wonderful little camera with a great optical zoom lens; 28 - 280mm. Finally a manufacturer who listened to its customers who were demanding a wide angle lens, applaud!

Panasonic Lumix FZ8 Sample Images : At the press conference of Panasonic in Paris we were able to shoot with the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 digital Megazoom camera. The Panasonic FZ8 is a camera for the photographer who is into a variety of photographic shooting. Although the camera is easy to handle and incorporates a range of pre-programmed scenes, it is offering a range of photographic settings like P/S/A/M for the more experienced photographer. I took the Panasonic camera with me to Versailles and was able to test the new Intelligent ISO control in combination with the MEGA O.I.S stabilizing system. I have to remind you that the images of the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8 are still a pre-production level, not final level!

New Panasonic Lumix cameras : Panasonic presents its 2007 digital camera line-up with the introduction of 10 new digital cameras. Our reporter is currently situated at the Panasonic press conference in Paris to take a first glimpse at the newest Panasonic models. The newly introduced digital camera models include the Lumix DMC-FX30, a successor to the DMC-FX07. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30 features 3.6x optical zoom and a wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens. The compact Lumix DMC-TZ3 features 10x optical zoom and uses the Panasonic Venus Engine III Image processing engine. And the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 will feature 12x Optical zoom, coupled with an Extra Optical Zoom function.

Panasonic DMW-SDP1 HDTV Photo Player : At the press conference in Paris Panasonic introduced the HDTV Photo Player DMW-SDP1 that allows users to view photos taken by a Lumix or other SD-enabled digital camera, in High Definition quality on a large screen TV. Through simply connecting the Panasonic SDP1 (using supplied HD component cable) to a HD TV, such as a Panasonic VIERA, and inserting their SD/SDHC memory card into the slot, users can view their photos in 1080i high definition quality. The included remote controller allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy smooth playback of high definition images with your family and friends. Operation of the remote controller is as easy as that of a LUMIX thanks to its omni-directional cursor.
