Olympus SP-550 UZ image test samples

Dennis Hissink : 2007-03-10 19:44:01
Olympus SP-550 UZ image test samples : After a 3 hours sleep I was picked up by Olympus Europe to join a trip to Spring Mountain Ranch, about 30 miles from Las Vegas where the PMA 2007 show is held. Arriving before sunrise I was able to use the new Olympus SP550 UZ Megazoom digital camera in the field. This beast of a compact camera offers an amazing 18x optical zoom (28-504mm - 35mm equivalent) and a blazing speed of 15 fps. These features are just a small part of the total package this camera offers. How about P/S/A/M settings, optical image stabilizer, ISO up to 5000, 2.5-inch LCD, Super Macro mode which lets you shoot from as close as 1cm, and much more. I have to say; I am impressed with the versatility of the Olympus SP-550 UZ!

Olympus E-510 : It’s about forethought, professional specifications and the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology: The Olympus E-510 delivers nothing short of impeccable performance. This successor to the E-500 gives photographers a better way to frame compositions since it boasts Live Preview capability on its 2.5" HyperCrystal LCD. Olympus proves itself once again as a technology leader with this camera’s built-in image stabiliser. As it is incorporated directly into the body, there’s no need for the costly inclusion of a stabiliser in each lens. Experience dramatically improved shooting results with a new image processing engine that offers excellent noise performance - thus bringing picture quality to a whole new level.

Olympus DSLR camera at PMA 2007 : Despite the bunch of cameras that have been introduced lately including the ones from Olympus me may see another new pair or maybe trio of Olympus DSLR camera introductions just before PMA 2007 opens. Visiting the European Olympus website you will notice a large black banner with silhouettes that you can easily recognize as digital SLR cameras. The question is what kind if digital SLR camera can we expect? Is it the long awaited professional FourThirds system digital SLR camera that will bring Olympus right into the professional league? Or is it an entry or semi-professional model aimed on the mass market? According to the banner March 5 is the day when Olympus will unveil their digital SLR mystery!
