Professional photographers survey by Kodak : A survey of more than 9,000 professional photographers in the US shows that film continues to have an avid following, with 75 percent of photographers saying they will continue to use film, even as some embrace digital imaging technology. The results of the US survey, conducted by the Eastman Kodak Company, mirror the results of a similar survey the company recently conducted in Europe, where more than two-thirds of professional photographers surveyed plan to continue using film. According to the US survey results, more than two-thirds (68 percent) of professional photographers prefer the results of film to those of digital for certain applications.

Digital camera usage and satisfaction study : The Canon PowerShot SD series ranks highest in the premium point and shoot segment, the Casio Exilim Zoom series ranks highest in the ultra slim segment, the Fujifilm Finepix F series leads the point and shoot segment and the Nikon D series ranks highest among digital single lens reflex (DSLR) models, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Digital Camera Usage and Satisfaction Study released today. The study, which has been completely redesigned for 2007 to better assess satisfaction drivers and market trends, examines camera model lines in four body-style segments: point and shoot, premium point and shoot, ultra slim and digital single lens reflex (DSLR).

Kodak active matrix OLED display technology : Eastman Kodak Company announced a cross licensing agreement with Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) and Chi Mei EL of Taiwan. CMEL plans to incorporate Kodak's active matrix OLED display technology in small panel, mobile displays. “This agreement between Kodak, CMO and CMEL validates that the active matrix OLED industry continues to gain substantial momentum, and is the future for brilliant displays,” said Mary Jane Hellyar, President, Kodak Display Business, and Senior Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. “Kodak has much to offer in the active matrix OLED space in intellectual property, low-cost strategic manufacturing know-how, and world class performing materials for OLED products.”

Ink costs for consumer inkjet printers : The proof is in: Consumers save most when they print with Kodak’s inkjet printers. Eastman Kodak Company unveiled ink yield test results and cost-per-page analyses, confirming Kodak’s claim that Kodak EasyShare All-in-One Printers’ premium, low-cost ink saves customers up to 50 percent on everything they print, compared to similar consumer inkjet printers. The company contracted with third-party testing lab QualityLogic Inc. to compare Kodak’s AIO printer ink yields to those of 12 other industry-leading printers. QualityLogic’s testing of black-and-white and color/text pages meets the recently released ISO standards for measuring ink cartridge yields.

Kodak partners with DSG : Eastman Kodak Company announced a partnership with electronics retailing giant DSG international plc, to exclusively supply the new Kodak All-In-One inkjet printers in the UK market through DSGi’s PC World, Currys and Currys.digital outlets. DSGi - also known as Dixons - will carry the new Kodak inkjet printers starting in June. “We dedicate considerable resources to identifying original new products for our outlets and we believe the Kodak EasyShare All-in-One Printers not only offer consumers the freedom to print documents and photos frequently, easily and affordably, they also have a pioneering quality which will appeal to our customers,” said Peter Duncombe, buying director, DSG international plc.
