Kodak brings low cost printing to Wal-Mart : Eastman Kodak Company announced that it has extended the consumer reach of its breakthrough home inkjet printer line while reinforcing the product’s unique value proposition by making it available at Wal-Mart, America’s leading retailer. The Kodak EasyShare 5100 All-in-One (AiO) Printer (US MSRP $129.99), is now available for purchase at 2,600 Wal-Mart stores nationwide. MediaMarkt Saturn to sell Kodak printers : Eastman Kodak Company announced that Media-Saturn Group will be the strategic partner to support Kodak’s entry into the German inkjet home printing market. Kodak EasyShare 5300 and 5500 All in One inkjet printers will be available from both consumer-electronics trade. “We have developed a model that enables the consumer to print in the high quality they have come to expect from Kodak, at affordable ink prices and with a high degree of user-friendliness,” said Andreas Lippert, General Manager, Kodak Germany. “Our pricing model will revolutionize home printing, offering consumers with a high volume of printouts an opportunity to print long-lasting documents at affordable prices.”
Kodak Inkjet Printers using SigmaTel Technology : With the launch of Eastman Kodak Company’s three new All-in-One inkjet printers, the company unveiled its partnership with SigmaTel, Inc. to use its mixed signal system on chip. SigmaTel’s inkjet printer controller has been deployed in the Kodak EasyShare 5100, 5300 and Kodak 5500 AiO Printer models. “SigmaTel’s silicon-based solution allowed us to deliver a new printer to market in record time,” Susan Tousi, director of R&D. “The SigmaTel technology enabled us to focus our resources on optimizing Kodak intellectual property and product design. Our new line of printers delivers affordable documents and Kodak lab-quality photos, saving consumers 50 percent on everything they print.”
