HP DreamColor technology : HP announced the industry’s first highly integrated system that delivers the greatest level of digital color consistency across a series of devices. A company-wide initiative, HP DreamColor Technologies builds on HP’s more than 20 years of experience in color imaging to provide customers the assurance of producing accurate, predictable and consistent color from device to device. The system, announced at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show, will first be made available to the graphic-intensive creative community and professional photography market through select HP printers. Over time, it will be implemented across a broader range of markets and HP product categories, including PCs and monitors.

Newer packaging also contains more recyclable and recycled content. “What I see here is smart design,” said Greg Norris, Ph.D., environmental life cycle assessment instructor at Harvard University and creator of the Earthster project, an open source software platform designed to make opportunities for sustainable production and purchasing globally accessible. “The changes all go in the right direction environmentally and all in ways that make economic sense to HP and its customers.”

The acquisition is part of HP’s strategy to grow its mobile enterprise business. 2007 CES awards for HP : HP earned nearly 20 industry accolades at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this month, including Best of Show awards from the Consumer Electronics Association, Yahoo! HP Hybrid nano-CMOS chips : HP announced research that could lead to the creation of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) up to eight times denser - while using less energy for a given computation - than those currently being produced. Moreover, such Hybrid nano-CMOS chips could be built using the same sized transistors as those used in today’s FPGA design, meaning they could be built in current fabrication facilities with only minor modifications. FPGAs are integrated circuits with programmable logic components and interconnects that can be adapted by end-users for specific applications. They are used in a wide range of industries, including communications, automotive and consumer electronics.
