HP ink patent infringement suit against Pelikan

HP ink patent infringement suit against Pelikan : HP announced that Pelikan Hardcopy Deutschland GmbH and the Swiss Pelikan Hardcopy (International) AG have admitted claims asserted by HP in an action for patent infringement filed with the Düsseldorf Regional Court in Germany. Based on this admission, the court issued a judgment ordering Pelikan to stop importing and distributing the infringing cartridges and to pay damages to HP. Pelikan also was ordered to recall all infringing products that might still be in the distribution channel. In May, HP alleged that Pelikan infringed multiple HP patents related to the print cartridges and the ink formulation found in Pelikan products. Pelikan has admitted HP’s claims.

They were presented to 15 K-12 public schools and 10 two- and four-year colleges and universities that received grants in 2006-2007 and were invited to apply for additional investment support. HP resolves ink cartridge patent dispute : HP announced that it has resolved a patent infringement lawsuit against German-based InkTec GmbH Zentrale and PCE Group regarding inks used in the refilling of certain HP inkjet cartridges. The settlement also included resolution with Korea-based InkTec Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of the infringing products. As part of the settlement, both InkTec entities and the PCE Group acknowledged the validity of the HP patents in suit and admitted to infringement. In addition, they agreed to pay HP an undisclosed sum, to stop selling infringing inks in Germany and other countries where such patents are held, and to withdraw infringing products from the market in those countries.

HP color matching technology : HP demonstrated a color matching technology that could change the way people shop for products that require color coordination, such as cosmetics. HP Labs, the company’s central research arm, has developed a technology that uses sophisticated imaging algorithms and mobile networking to match colors that complement one another, including makeup specific to skin coloring. Retailers, consumer goods and other companies that require a high level of color or image coordination could implement the technology to offer services that help their customers select the right products for their needs. The color matching technology, builds on HP’s expertise in imaging, color science, mobility and networking.
