Fujifilm UVIR forensic filter

Ilse Jurriën : 2007-06-07 14:30:15
Fujifilm high quality UVIR forensic filter : Fujifilm USA has contracted with Peca Products, Inc. to produce a high quality ultraviolet and infrared forensic filter kit for use with our line of UVIR sensitive forensic digital cameras. The kit contains the most common yet hard to find set of filters that most forensic specialists use during investigations. Dealers are often asked to suggest filters for use with Fujifilm cameras. In addition, most of the IR filters needed are no longer in production by many of the popular filter suppliers making this more difficult. The filters are high quality glass and are sized for 67mm filter threaded lenses. Most common investigative macro lenses have thread mounts between 55mm and 67mm.

Survey warns the nation of long term memory loss

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-05-29 22:49:00
Survey warns the nation of long term memory loss : In research independently commissioned by the company, 63% of digital camera owners risk losing a lifetime of memories as they opt for saving images on a computer or printing images using an inkjet printer at the expense of obtaining true quality prints. For the 39% of those surveyed who rely on storing images on a PC there comes a strong warning from computer experts who pinpoint the potential risk of hardware failure and data loss. Computer consultant Adam Olliffe, MCSE says: "The hard drive is a mechanical device prone to failure. Technology over recent years has concentrated on squeezing more and more data onto the same disk surface area."

Best compact camera at TIPA awards : Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd, has received critical acclaim in Europe. Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) voted the FinePix Z5fd the 'Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera' at the TIPA Awards 2007 calling it a 'technological marvel'. This follows in the footsteps of the FinePix F30 - championed for its low light capabilities - which won the TIPA Best Compact Digital Camera 2006. The hotly contested TIPA awards are widely regarded as the European 'Oscars' of the photo and imaging industry. The FinePix Z5fd is the first of Fujifilm's 'Z' range series to feature Fujifilm's hardware-based Face Detection technology - which can detect faces and optimise exposure settings in an industry leading 0.05 seconds.

Fujifilm FinePix S9600 review with test photos

Dennis Hissink : 2007-04-22 14:26:00
Fujifilm FinePix S9600 review with test photos : Since some time, Fujifilm has two Megazoom cameras in its program. One, the FinePix S6500fd, has been produced to target the average consumer. The other, the Fujifilm FinePix S9600, has been intended for the more serious photographer and offers, for that reason, other possibilities than the FinePix S6500fd. The Fujifilm S9600 succeeds the FinePix S9500. There aren't many changes in regards to the previous model. The image quality has been improved, the Fujifilm FinePix S9600 Megazoom camera is equipped with a larger LCD monitor and an auto focus for faster focus under low light circumstances and there are improvements in the flash. The number of Megapixels remains the same.

Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-04-01 23:00:00
Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd review : One thing became very clear with Fujifilm, at the Photokina 2006: face detection is going to be it! And the technique is ready to be built in cameras standard. With this, Fujifilm can fall back on their extensive knowledge of minilabs. There, the technique has been used for years, among other things, to be able to tune colours perfectly. One of the first models with face detection is the Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd. The indication fd stands for face detection. The sensor is building another very important part of the Real Photo Technology. Fujifilm has been using the Super CCD for a long time, and the Fujifilm S6500fd has been equipped with the 6th generation already, the Super CCD VI HR.
