Print exhibition at Hoopers Gallery in Clerkenwell : The Royal Photographic Society launched its 150th Annual International Print Exhibition to a packed house at Hoopers Gallery in Clerkenwell, London on Tuesday evening. The 150th Annual International Print Exhibition, which has been sponsored by Genix Imaging Ltd, was opened by The Society's President, Professor Ralph Jacobson ASIS Hon. FRPS, who awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to Richard Merritt FRPS, Alan Shawcross FRPS and Harry Borden respectively. The competition was open to members and non members, amateurs and professionals, and the final selection of 125 prints was chosen from a record 2,200 images submitted by 600 photographers worldwide.

Royal Photographic Society print exhibition : The Royal Photographic Society launched its 150th Annual International Print Exhibition to a packed house at Hoopers Gallery in Clerkenwell, London. The Exhibition, which has been sponsored by Genix Imaging Ltd, was opened by The Society’s President, Professor Ralph Jacobson ASIS Hon. FRPS, who awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to Richard Merritt FRPS, Alan Shawcross FRPS and Harry Borden respectively. Amongst the guests were eminent photographers Tom Stoddart Hon. FRPS and Brian Griffin Hon. FRPS as well as nearly half of the 102 exhibitors, including Simon Roberts ARPS and Raphaella Philcox, aged nine, who is the youngest person ever to have a print in the Exhibition.


National Art Museum of Beijing

National Art Museum of Beijing : Royal Photographic Society President, Professor Ralph Jacobson ASIS HonFRPS and Peter Noble ARPS have just returned from Beijing where they attended the opening of Professor Deng Wei’s FRPS Exhibition “In Pursuit of Sunlight” in the National Art Museum in Beijing and formally met with the China Photographers Association (CPA). The Exhibition is being held in the National Art Museum of Beijing and features 100 Photographs of Contemporary Portraits, by Deng Wei, of Cultural Figures in China, world-renowned statesmen, writers, scientists, artists and athletes, in Europe and the USA. Deng Wei has spent dozens of years photographing these Portraits and has self financed his travels to take them.

Royal Photographic Society print exhibition winners : The Royal Photographic Society is pleased to announce the Award winners for its prestigious International Print Exhibition which, this year, celebrates its 150th Anniversary. The Gold Award was won by Richard Merritt FRPS for his extraordinary photograph of a Scalloped Hammerhead Shark taken in the waters of Costa Rica’s Cocos Island National Park. Also this year, an ‘Under 25years section’ has been introduced and the Gold Medal has been awarded to Chris Charnock ARPS, aged 19, who also wins an E400 digital SLR camera, kindly donated by Olympus for his print ‘Exploited’. The Exhibition will open at Hoopers Gallery in London and will then tour the UK until April 2008.

Royal photographic society print exhibition : The Royal Photographic Society’s esteemed 149th International Print Exhibition is to spend a month in the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kiev. The initiative is being supported and funded by the British Council, enabling the exhibition to be displayed in the Ukraine from 18th May until 17th June 2007 with a press conference on 15th May. The International Print Exhibition has now finished its UK tour where it was seen by over 50,000 people and received consistently positive feedback from the venues and from visitors to the Exhibition. The Royal Photographic Society is the foremost photographic society in the world and has staged its International Print Exhibition almost every year.
