Panasonic HDC-SD5 : The consumer trend toward large-screen, high-image-quality TVs is still growing, and broadcasters are increasingly switching to high definition. Video products are evolving along with this trend, moving toward high-definition. As a manufacturer of industry-leading video equipment, Panasonic is responding to emerging demand in the HD video era by introducing a new 3CCD full-HD camcorder, the Panasonic SD5. The Panasonic HDC-SD5 can record full-HD video with 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Panasonic HDC-SD5, which records on SDHC/SD flash memory cards, is even smaller than its predecessor model, Panasonic's SD1. In fact, the Panasonic SD5 debuts as the world's smallest and lightest 3CCD full-HD camcorder.

Hitachi Hybrid Camcorder : Hitachi America, Ltd. Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division's consumer group unveiled a new generation of UltraVision camcorders that include the first two hybrid products capable of recording video directly to either formats. The DZH500A model, which was selected as a CES Innovations 2007 honoree in the Portable Electronics: Audio/Video category and records onto a wide array of DVD formats, including DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and DVD+RW, features a 30GB hard drive, 30X optical zoom, SD memory card slot, and will be available in April for about $800. The DZHS300A, available today at retailers nationwide for about $600, features an 8GB hard drive, 25X optical zoom and SD memory card slot.
