Samsung hybrid hard drive : Samsung Electronics Ltd., the worldwide digital consumer electronics and information technology leader, announces the shipment of its hybrid hard drive to the commercial marketplace. Samsung’s MH80 Series hybrid hard drive is offered in 80GB, 120GB and 160GB capacities. Samsung is a leader in hybrid hard drive technology and is one of the first companies to offer a commercially available unit. The MH80 hybrid hard drive is currently shipping to select OEM customers and will soon be available in retail and commercial outlets. Optimized to work in conjunction with Windows Vista capable notebook PCs, Samsung’s MH80 is a 2.5-inch hybrid hard drive with 128 or 256 megabytes of flash memory.

Samsung 1.8-inch 60GB hard disk : Samsung Electronics, the worldwide digital consumer electronics and information technology leader, has introduced the first 1.8-inch hard drive with a 60GB per disk capacity and a super-slim form factor that is just 5-millimeters tall. Samsung’s sleek new 1.8-inch N-series features 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 60GB per disk capacities - the largest one-disk storage capacity offered by any drive on the market today. Samsung’s 1.8-inch N-series is currently shipping. Samsung’s new 60GB 1.8-inch hard disk can store data equivalent to 60 135-minute movies, 1,500 40MB music videos, or 15,000 4MB MP3 music files. Samsung’s 1.8-inch N-series hard disk drives are available in both internal and external HDD type.

HP TouchSmart : HP expanded its portfolio of digital entertainment offerings with a new consumer PC category and a broad lineup of digital entertainment products and services that aim to fundamentally change the way people connect, access and enjoy high-definition and personal digital content. Announced at the CES, the offerings include the industry’s first all-in-one touch-screen PC and touch-screen consumer tablet PC based on Microsoft Windows Vista, HP’s first home media server, nine new high-definition TVs, a Blu-ray disc writer, new digital content delivery services and home automation solutions. HP also introduced the industry’s first consumer tablet PC optimized for Microsoft Windows Vista and on-the-go entertainment.


SanDisk support Windows ReadyBoost

SanDisk support Windows ReadyBoost : SanDisk announced it will offer broad support for the Windows ReadyBoost feature of Microsoft’s new Windows Vista operating system. Select USB flash drives from SanDisk with capacities of 1GB or more that ship after mid-February will be compatible with Windows ReadyBoost, as will select flash memory cards available later in the year. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show. Windows ReadyBoost, a performance enhancement feature new with Windows Vista, a new Operating System for business and consumers, creates a “cache” of frequently needed data in otherwise unused space on a USB flash drive or flash memory card.
