Casio Exilim EX-V7 review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-09-19 20:51:30
Casio Exilim EX-V7 digital camera review : Casio is trying to increase its market share by introducing new series Exilim cameras; innovative or at least unique as always. This is also the case with the outstanding Casio Exilim EX-V7 compact camera. To start with, the Casio EX-V7 is a slim camera, but most remarkably, it has an incredible zoom range for such a compact camera. It has a 7x optical zoom, which is equivalent to a 38 to 266 mm zoom. And that in such a compact model! To prevent movement blur, the Casio EX-V7 has a built-in image stabiliser; the image sensor can shift. On top of that, the camera has an Anti Shake DSP; as the camera detects movement in the subject, it searches for the ideal ISO rate and shutter speed.

Casio 60 fps Digital Camera Prototype : Casio announced that it is developing an entirely new digital camera with hitherto unseen high speed performance and image capture functions that make the most of its cutting-edge digital technologies. The revolutionary Casio 60 fps digicam of the future will be able to take still images at an astonishing shooting speed, to catch fast-moving subjects at the crucial moment. The Casio Hi-speed camera will also take movies that capture movement so fast that it cannot even be seen by the human eye. The first Casio high speed camera prototype was displayed at the IFA, a consumer electronics trade show, in Berlin, Germany, where our team is operating and working to cover the show live.

Casio Exilim EX-Z8 : Although at the IFA 2007 show Casio did not mention anything about a new digicam, we were informed by Casio that the new Casio Exilim EX-Z8 is introduced. At this moment it is for sure that the Casio Exilim Z8 is available in Germany and the Netherlands (Dixons only), but it may also be available in Austria and the UK. The Casio Exilim EX-Z8 incorporates the cutting-edge Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module. The 8 Megapixel Casio Z8 camera adds enhanced movie functionality to Casio’s stylish series of Exilim digital cameras. The Casio Exilim EX-Z8 joins Casio’s successful Exilim Zoom series, whose excellent balance of superior functionality and stylish, compact look characterize the Exilim brand.

Casio Exilim C53CA mobile camphone : Digital camera enthusiasts are all familiar with the Exilim series Casio offers, but we still have to see the first Exilim mobile phone to reach the market outside Asia. Casio Korea is proud to introduce their high resolution mobile camera phone; the Casio Exilim C53CA. Unfortunately, for now, we will not be able to get a sample in our hands because the Casio C53CA is for the Asian (Japan) market only. Casio is one of the pioneers of the digital camera market and is already active for more than a decade. The stunning designed Exilim cameras are famous all over the world and often copied by the competition.

Casio changes name into Casio America : Casio, Inc, the US subsidiary of Casio Computer Co. Ltd., a global leader in the consumer electronics industry, officially changed its name to Casio America, Inc., effective today. The new name change follows the company’s major milestone, which was welcomed in June of 2007 – the 50th Anniversary of Casio Computer Co., Ltd. It was 50 years ago that the four Kashio brothers invented the electric calculator and decided to go into business, leading to the establishment of Casio Computer Co., Ltd. With the passing of time, Casio has evolved from manufacturing some of the world’s first calculators to developing digital watches, electronic musical instruments and digital cameras.

Guinness Beer Storehouse test photos : During my short stay in Dublin I was able to visit the Guinness Storehouse and took some sample shots with the new Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 digital compact camera. The Casio Z1200 offers 12 Megapixel resolution and incorporates CCD-shift image stabilization and the latest Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module with motion analysis technology.
