Canon 40D review

Ilse Jurriën : 2007-12-18 00:55:00
Canon 40D SLR review : Canon listened very well to their users and testers. The Canon 40D SLR camera has been improved significantly compared to the 30D. And although most people would look at the sensor immediately, the main improvement is not found there. The amount of pixels has been increased alright to 10 million but pixels are only one thing in a camera. The EOS 40D has been equipped with the latest DIGIC III processor and that is a more important step than you would think. Not only does the new processor improve the image quality, in addition the DIGIC III enables Live View. And it enables faster processing of the signal; the image speed got enhanced to 6.5 frames per second.

Canon PowerShot G9 Review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-12-04 20:05:00
Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera review : Sometimes manufacturers actually listen to testers and users of digital cameras. In any case Canon did when developing the PowerShot G7. A terrific camera except for one minus; no RAW format was available and especially the photographer wanting a compact camera besides his DSLR was disappointed. But the successor, the Canon PowerShot G9, does offer RAW format making this top compact camera a very interesting one for the demanding and the professional photographer. Adding RAW format is not the only thing Canon has changed on the G9. The Canon G9 is now equipped with a new image sensor with 12 million pixels.

Canon IXUS 860IS review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-11-25 21:00:00
Canon IXUS 860 IS review : Canon decided to introduce their new assortment of digital cameras for the second half of the year in August 2007. A new IXUS was one of the many cameras that got added to the Canon compact camera line; the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS. There is no stopping the success of the IXUS and Canon know how to continuously and rapidly renew or at least add to the IXUS assortment with improved specifications. The Canon IXUS 860 IS camera is a successor to the IXUS 850 and is more or less a logical upgrade. The biggest changes compared to its predecessor are obvious in one glance when you take a look at the rear of the camera. The large 3-inch sized monitor covers approximately 70% of the back.

Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III Safari Photo Gallery

Dennis Hissink : 2007-11-09 22:46:02
Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III photo gallery : When you are offered the opportunity to work with the latest digital equipment on a location you will probably never visit again; you do not have to think twice! I am talking about an invitation from Canon Europe on a press trip to Kenya with a number of colleagues from the Netherlands and many other countries. No less than 80 journalists from Europe, among them four colleagues from the Netherlands, were flown to Nairobi, Kenya, at the invitation of Canon. In Nairobi small groups were formed to fly to the Borana ranch in the Laikipia area, north of Nairobi and situated by the Mount Kenya. The Canon EOS Safari trip coincided with 20 years of EOS; a unique memorable moment in the digital world!

Canon PowerShot A570IS review

Dennis Hissink : 2007-05-15 22:10:00
Canon PowerShot A570IS review : Last year's Canon PowerShot A710 IS was the first digital compact camera in Canon's A-series equipped with optical image stabilization. Now there's the Canon PowerShot A570 IS; a 7,1 Megapixel camera with a 4x optical zoom, an image stabilizer, DIGIC III processor, face detection, an ISO speed up to 1600 and a 2,5-inch LCD monitor. The Canon A570 IS' features are impressive, especially for a camera in the novice class, for which the Canon A-series cameras are known. The Canon PowerShot A570 IS has a uniquely large selection of functions and setup possibilities for this class. Although the A570 IS does not have a large optical range, the optical stabilization application is a great advantage.

Canon PowerShot A570 IS image samples

Dennis Hissink : 2007-03-10 19:44:00
Canon PowerShot A570 image samples : Thanks to Canon Netherlands for placing a Canon PowerShot A570 IS camera sample at our disposal very fast, I was able to capture life in Las Vegas before and during PMA 2007. The new Canon A570 IS camera has been officially introduced some weeks ago during a worldwide introduction day, together with various other PowerShot and Digital IXUS compact cameras and the impressively fast professional Canon EOS 1D Mark III digital SLR camera. The new Canon PowerShot A570 IS digital camera is a 7 Megapixel model, equipped with a 4x optical zoom featuring optical Image Stabilizer, DIGIC III processor and for the first time the incredibly useful Face Detection Technology.

Canon PowerShot A640 review

Nic Rossmüller : 2007-02-17 03:50:00
Canon PowerShot A640 review : Canon decided to introduce their new range a month before the start of Photokina 2006. As well as several printers and other equipment, a new series of digital cameras was introduced, including the Canon PowerShot A640. The Canon PowerShot A-series has been around for several years. The A-series has a reputation for being accessible, reasonably priced and fully equipped to appeal to a broad public. The Canon PowerShot A640 also has a ten Megapixels CCD image sensor and 4x optical zoom. The previous model, the Canon PowerShot A620, had 7 Megapixels and anticipated good sales figures. Whoever thought that the increase in resolution would not prove popular was soon taught better by the Canon A640 camera.
