Ralf Jurrien : 2007-06-28 11:07:00

Not only can people find them online, but the odds of finding that free iPod seem better than ever. The use of free online promotions has not only increased during the holidays, but it has gained legitimacy, with prominent retailers jumping on board. It may have begun with last year's creation of the "Cyber Monday" marketing myth, labeling the first Monday after Thanksgiving as the biggest online shopping day of the year. Although Cyber Monday was later debunked as mostly media hype, the buzz surrounding the overall increase in online traffic during this season lingers.
