Library of Congress awarded Stock Artists Alliance : The US Library of Congress has awarded the Stock Artists Alliance one of eight partnerships for preserving digital media. The partnerships are part of the $2.15 million Preserving Creative America initiative of the Library’s National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program. These partnerships each address different aspects of preservation, to help insure the survival of digital media, whether images, movies or even video games. Being recognized along with the likes of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Sony, and BMI, SAA’s award comes as acknowledgment of SAA’s ongoing work to promote the importance of using and preserving photo metadata.

PeerMe One-Click photo upload tool : Voice communications technology company PeerMe launched its One-Click Photo Upload tool. This feature, which is part of PeerMe’s Java version, allows users to instantly transfer pictures taken on their wireless phones directly to their Facebook pages in one easy step. In addition, the tool also features one-click blogging integrated with Twitter. Any other photo or blog sites can integrate with PeerMe’s APIs and offer their users the same type of functionality. PeerMe was named one of the “10 emerging wireless entertainment companies to watch in 2007” by IDC. PeerMe products were not developed with, nor are they endorsed by, Facebook or Twitter.
