Stock photo collection from ANP Photo

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-04-11 20:21:00
Stock photo collection from ANP Photo : This worldwide and unique initiative enables models to earn money with their photos, every time their image is published. In second and third world countries, models receive their money by means of micro banking facilities or as a cheque. The people that are portrayed are not professional models, but ordinary people who sign a model release contract on the spot. In doing so they agree in the use of their photo for any kind of publication purpose. The idea of World Portraits is that in Western countries, it’s common that models sign a model release and receive money for their job. In other parts of the world, people are portrayed at least as often.

Focus and Zoom technology

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-03-09 19:49:00
Focus and Zoom technology : Over the past ten years, photographic cameras have almost completely transitioned from silver halide film to electronic sensors. But the other key component - the lens - has remained largely unchanged... until now. The mobile phone industry, with its huge demand for embedded cameras, is driving a broad set of new requirements for miniaturized, rugged, low-cost, low-power, high-performance lens and actuator combinations. As they come to market, the superior value proposition of those optical assemblies will threaten to displace traditional optics in cameras of all types. As a result, the business of designing and making lenses is undergoing its most fundamental upheaval since the Renaissance.
