Ralf Jurrien : 2007-08-13 17:00:00
Smallest 1Gb mobile DRAM from Hynix : Hynix Semiconductor, Inc. announced it has developed the industry's smallest 1Gb mobile DRAM. Mobile DRAMs are widely used in wireless and handheld applications such as mobile phones, digital still and video cameras, PDAs, PMPs, and GPS Navigation systems. These products are now designed in smaller and smaller packages reducing the size of the battery. Hynix's Mobile DRAMs are designed to meet the memory requirements of feature-rich portable applications that demand high memory density, high throughput and very low power dissipation features in a small form factor package. The product is also the industry's first commercially available 1Gb mobile DRAM built on Hynix's 66 nm process technology.

Flash memory server for on demand television

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-05-08 18:08:00
Flash memory server for on-demand television : SeaChange International will unveil its flash memory solution for on-demand television at The Cable Show. The MediaServer Flash Streamer is a 100-percent flash memory-based solution that completely decouples on-demand streaming from disk-based content storage, empowering television operators to push their streaming resources to the network edge and deploy centralized content libraries. “With flash technology, operators can bring much more content to the network edge to more subscribers without having to bring disk storage with it, which means more content and higher quality of service at a much lower total cost of ownership,” said Bang Chang, director of server products, SeaChange.
