BenQ DC-X735 : BenQ introduces the BenQ X735 featuring a range of enhanced features, including high ISO options, wise zoom and face tracking function as well as a large 2.5-inch display and smc (Super Multi-Coating) Pentax lens. Featuring 7 Megapixel resolution capabilities with 3x optical zoom in both static and video mode, the BenQ DC-X735 offers great functionality in a super slim stainless-steel body at a mere 12.5mm. BenQ X735’s face tracking function automatically detects and tracks up to 9 human faces and is able to focus the faces to ensure the faces are perfectly presented in terms of color and clearness in the photos. The BenQ X735 is planned to be available in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific starting early October.

At a mere 14.9mm, the BenQ DC-T800 takes the record as the world's slimmest 8 Megapixel camera with a 3.0-inch touch screen display. The BenQ T800 camera sports a super slim exterior, a large 3-inch touch screen display, smc Pentax lens, super shake-free mode and high ISO options. Other new features include Face Tracking function and Z-lighting function. The BenQ DC T800 is equipped with an 8 Megapixel CCD sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens. Furthermore, it possesses a 3-inch, 232,000 pixel resolution LCD monitor with touch screen capabilities. Users can write memos on their images or activate camera functions by touch.

The BenQ C840’s Face Tracking function detects and tracks human faces.

The BenQ DC E820 camera supports high sensitivity (ISO) up to 1200 ISO to ensure clear photos in dark environment. The BenQ DC E820 supports high quality movie recording at 30fps in 720 x 400 resolution and supports PictBridge function which provides direct printing via any PictBridge-enabled printer. In addition, the BenQ E820 digital compact camera is bundled with 6MB built-in memory and is Secure Digital card compatible. Price or availability of the BenQ DC E820 has not been announced yet.

BenQ to sell digital camera business

BenQ to sell digital camera business : BenQ Corporation and Ability Enterprise Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-based manufacturer of digital cameras, announced that they have entered into an agreement for the acquisition of BenQ’s digital camera-related R&D and manufacturing facilities. The acquisition aims to strengthen ties between the two companies on future collaborations, while complementing both parties’ product offerings. Ability has agreed to acquire BenQ’s digital camera-related assets, including manufacturing equipment and materials at the book value determined on June 30, 2007. Approximately 70 employees, mostly comprised of R&D personnel within the digital camera business unit, will be joining Ability starting on June 1, 2007.
