Apple iPhone combines three devices into one - a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod and the best mobile Internet device ever - all based on Apple’s revolutionary multi-touch interface and pioneering software that allows users to control Apple iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers. Apple sold its one millionth iPhone just 74 days after it went on sale in the United States on June 29th. The Apple iPhone will be available in an 8GB model for £269 (inc VAT) and will work with either a PC or Mac.

Apple iPhone price drop : Apple announced that it is on track to sell its one millionth Apple iPhone before the end of September, and to make the Apple iPhone affordable for even more customers this holiday season, it is lowering the price of the most popular iPhone model with 8GB of storage from $599 to just $399. “The surveys are in and Apple iPhone customer satisfaction scores are higher than we’ve ever seen for any Apple product,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve clearly got a breakthrough product and we want to make it affordable for even more customers as we enter this holiday season.” The 8GB Apple iPhone is available immediately for $399. The Apple iPhone 4GB model will be sold while supplies last.

iTunes Store stops selling NBC Television Shows : Apple has announced that it will not be selling the NBC television shows for the upcoming television season on its online iTunes Store. The move follows NBC’s decision to not renew its agreement with iTunes after Apple declined to pay more than double the wholesale price for each NBC Television episode, which would have resulted in the retail price to consumers increasing to $4.99 per episode from the current $1.99. ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW, along with more than 50 cable networks, are signed up to sell TV shows from their upcoming season on iTunes at $1.99 per episode. Apple’s agreement with NBC Television Shows ends in December 2007.

Apple iPhone delivers 8 hours talk time : Apple announced that iPhone will deliver significantly longer battery life when it ships on June 29 than was originally estimated when Apple iPhone was unveiled in January. Apple iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. (All Battery claims are dependent upon network configuration and other factors). In addition, Apple iPhone will feature up to 250 hours - more than 10 days - of standby time. Apple also announced that the entire top surface of iPhone, including its 3.5” display, has been upgraded from plastic to optical-quality glass to achieve a superior level of scratch resistance and optical clarity.
