Apple iPhone combines three devices into one - a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod and the best mobile Internet device ever - all based on Apple’s revolutionary multi-touch interface and pioneering software that allows users to control Apple iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers. Apple sold its one millionth iPhone just 74 days after it went on sale in the United States on June 29th. The Apple iPhone will be available in an 8GB model for £269 (inc VAT) and will work with either a PC or Mac.

Apple iPhone price drop : Apple announced that it is on track to sell its one millionth Apple iPhone before the end of September, and to make the Apple iPhone affordable for even more customers this holiday season, it is lowering the price of the most popular iPhone model with 8GB of storage from $599 to just $399. “The surveys are in and Apple iPhone customer satisfaction scores are higher than we’ve ever seen for any Apple product,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve clearly got a breakthrough product and we want to make it affordable for even more customers as we enter this holiday season.” The 8GB Apple iPhone is available immediately for $399. The Apple iPhone 4GB model will be sold while supplies last.

iTunes Store stops selling NBC Television Shows : Apple has announced that it will not be selling the NBC television shows for the upcoming television season on its online iTunes Store. The move follows NBC’s decision to not renew its agreement with iTunes after Apple declined to pay more than double the wholesale price for each NBC Television episode, which would have resulted in the retail price to consumers increasing to $4.99 per episode from the current $1.99. ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW, along with more than 50 cable networks, are signed up to sell TV shows from their upcoming season on iTunes at $1.99 per episode. Apple’s agreement with NBC Television Shows ends in December 2007.

With everything else already included, iPhone customers can easily choose the plan that’s right for them based on the amount of voice minutes they plan to use each month. Apple iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. (All Battery claims are dependent upon network configuration and other factors). In addition, Apple iPhone will feature up to 250 hours - more than 10 days - of standby time. iPhone searches increased : Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, announced that the volume of US searches for the term “iphone” increased 583 percent in the past four weeks (from the week ending May 26, 2007 to the week ending June 23) leading up to the June 29 launch date. The market share of US visits to the Apple iPhone website increased 185 percent in the same time period. The Apple iPhone website has been the number one website1 based on visits, in the Hitwise Computers and Internet - Electronics category - which lists websites focused on electronics products and electronics manufacturers - for the past three weeks starting with the week ending June 9, 2007.

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference : Apple announced that Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, will kick off its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2007 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. At WWDC, Apple plans to show developers a feature complete version of Mac OS X Leopard and give them a beta copy to take home for final testing. Leopard is scheduled to ship in October. The five-day event, scheduled to run from June 11 to June 15, will deliver more than 150 sessions and labs aimed at getting the most out of Leopard. The five-day conference costs $1,595 (US) per attendee, with a $300 (US) Early Registration Discount that has been extended through May 11.
