Ralf Jurrien : 2007-07-12 12:55:00
Fine Art Baryta paper from Hahnemuhle : Hahnemuhle FineArt announces the launch of digital Fine Art Baryta paper for Autumn 2007. As a traditional artist's paper the "FineArt Baryta 325" will combine an ultra smooth surface with an original Baryta finish. The digital Baryta paper has Hahnemuhle's unique "touch and feel" experience and is a premium replacement for traditional Baryta papers from analogue laboratories. The new paper contains barium sulfate in the coating that enhances the typical reflecting gloss, high Dmax, large color gamut and sharp definition of a Baryta paper. The bright white "FineArt Baryta 325" is currently in the Beta testing phase and is wowing the first photographers to use it.

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-06-28 09:06:00
Gitzo professional aluminum tripods : Gitzo introduces 2 Series 2 tripods that bring advanced materials, Gitzo technology, performance and quality to the aluminum tripod range. The castings are made of Soulid 238, Gitzo's unique technical compound 30% lighter than magnesium but just as strong and with great vibration dampening properties. They've also incorporated a Basalt center column for further weight reduction and to improve stabilization and performance. But the improvements don't stop there - the aluminum tube used for the legs is also new: 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), 1.2mm wall thickness and brushed matte black finish for improved locking performance and minimized reflectivity.

Gitzo Basalt tripods with G-Lock

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-06-28 09:05:00
Gitzo Basalt tripods with G-Lock : The Gitzo Basalt Series was designed to give carbon fiber like features and performance at pricing approaching the aluminum series. But, the Gitzo engineers are always making improvements, and the carbon fiber tripods have added many new features since the Basalt tripods were introduced, including the ALR (anti-leg-rotation) which made its debut in the Basalt series. Now, Gitzo is taking one of the most exciting and important new features of the Carbon fiber series and bringing it to the Basalt models- the G-Lock! Thanks to the cone-shaped locking ramp that is at the core of the patented design, the lock strength is amplified with less torque than all other twist lock designs.
