Toshiba 100GB 1.8 inch hard disk drive

Toshiba 100GB 1.8 inch hard disk drive : Toshiba, announced a 1.8-inch drive that offers a storage capacity of 100 gigabytes, the largest capacity yet achieved in this class of HDD. The new drive, MK1011GAH, employs perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology and an improved error correction code to secure the highest areal density of any 1.8-inch HDD in the market, 240.8 megabits per square millimeter. Toshiba will start mass production of this new best-in-class drive from January 2007. Packing larger data capacities into small form factor HDD is a must to support continued advances in the notebook PC market and to meet growing demand for personal digital media supporting high capacity audio and video applications.

Toshiba 8GB SDHC memory card : Toshiba announced the global launch of the latest addition to its new series of high-capacity SDHC Memory Cards: the industry’s first 8-gigabyte (GB) Class 4 memory card. The new card will be introduced in early January 2007, alongside the 4GB products launched in September, and will give Toshiba a larger commercially available lineup in high performance SD Memory Cards. The SDHC (SD High Capacity) Memory Card is based on the SD Card Association’s SD Specifications Ver2.00, which defines high capacity, high performance enhancements to market-leading SD Memory Cards. The new card meets the Class 4 standard, a speed standard that requires a data write speed of at least 4GB/second.

Toshiba TransMemory USB Flash Drives : Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., and its parent, Toshiba Corporation, announced the forthcoming introduction of TransMemory USB Flash Drives that will bring U3 smart technology into the company's USB lineup. A corresponding line-up of Flash drive subassemblies for OEMs will be offered that can be easily customized by adding the outer shell. USB flash drives have won support for their combination of capacity, ease-of-use and portability. The U3 smart drive computing platform extends that versatility by supporting storage not only of data, but also of applications and personal computer settings, preferences, profiles and security features, as well as the means to manage them.

Toshiba MicroSD Flash Memory Card :Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., (Taec) and its parent, Toshiba Corporation, today announced a new microSD card family for use in cellular telephones, with initial capacities of 256 megabyte (MB)1 , 512MB and 1-gigabyte (GB)2. The microSD card, with approximately one-fourth the cubic measure of a miniSD memory card, is currently the smallest memory card available worldwide. Its primary application is in cellular telephones equipped with music playback and camera functionality. The microSD card is intended for use in handsets equipped with microSD slots to enable transfer and storage of music and digital photos, although it can also be used with an adapter in standard SD card slots.

SD flash memory card launched by Toshiba : Toshiba Corporation today announced new SD Memory Cards that will extend both the ultra-small and the ultra high-capacity segments of its comprehensive product line-up. The company will launch new microSD Memory Cards in July and August, and follow up in September with the introduction of SDHC Memory Cards. All the new memory cards will be available in the global market. Toshiba is a technology and market leader in applying NAND flash memory to compact memory card solutions that add to the functionality and performance of portable equipment, and that provide highly flexible bridge media for transferring data between products as diverse as digital cameras, PCs, TVs and personal video viewers.
