Lucidiom and Princess Cruises photo printing service : Princess Cruises sets sail this December with Lucidiom’s Automated Photo Machine (APM) 2000, allowing passengers to make customized photo prints on board. Fifteen ships cruising the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands will be outfitted in December with another two ships making their maiden cruises in April. Each ship features three Automated Photo Machines branded for Princess Cruises. The APMs feature customized templates to make cruise-specific themed prints and allow passengers to turn their digital images of their cruise vacations into instant memory keepsakes. Athentech signs three licensing agreements : Athentech Technologies said it has signed licensing agreements with three specialty consumer-oriented digital imaging firms to add its patented, award-winning Perfectly Clear image correction technology into their "niche" applications. The announcement came during the photokina convention and trade show here. Under the licensing agreements, Perfectly Clear is being integrated into a new multimedia slideshow creation tool from Singapore-based muvee Technologies, as well as new photo book creation software from Album Printer in the Netherlands, Athentech said. It also is being included as a plug-in that comes shipped with imaging software from the German company FixFoto, the company said.

X-Rite & Amazys integrate : The Board of Directors of X-Rite, announced today the implementation of the planned CEO succession which was outlined at the time of the January announcement of the Amazys acquisition. Michael C. Ferrara will retire from his positions of CEO and Member of the Board and Thomas J. Vacchiano Jr. will become President and Chief Executive Officer as well as a Member of the Board of Directors. Tom Vacchiano was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Amazys Holding AG from January 2001 until the acquisition by X-Rite in July of this year. Mr. Ferrara will remain available to consult on the transition through the end of this year. The CEO transition was planned as a part of the Amazys acquisition.

IDC ranks Canon No.1 in Digital Camera Market 2005 : Canon Europe’s position as a leading provider of imaging technology solutions has been reconfirmed by IDC, ahead of the release of the industry analyst’s forthcoming Western European digital camera market forecast report, in which Canon is positioned as the 2005 market leader for the fourth consecutive year. The forthcoming IDC sector report will show that, despite increased market competition, Canon has retained the No.1 position in 2005 and claims 16.5% of the overall Western European digital camera market, which saw total shipments of 27 million units (up from 25 million in 2004). IDC has calculated combined sales for Canon in 2005 of more than 4 million units for SLR (D-SLR) and compact digital cameras, allowing the company to double its lead over closest competitor Sony from 2.8% to 5.6%.

Duracell advertising campaign : Duracell unveiled the latest commercial in its highly successful "Trusted Everywhere" advertising campaign. The 30-second television spot depicts the life-saving work of AirLife Denver, an emergency rescue transport service that uses Lear Jets, helicopters and ground ambulances to save trauma patients and bring them to area hospitals. The "Trusted Everywhere" campaign, now its fourth successful year, is designed to reinforce the power of Duracell batteries by demonstrating two parallel uses of electronic devices - one in an everyday situation and the other in a critical capacity. The latest spot, which is entitled "Two Helicopters," opens with a father teaching his young daughter how to fly a remote-controlled toy helicopter in a park.
