Sony 4GB Memory stick Pro Duo : Don’t let the size of Sony’s 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media card fool you. This product has the largest storage capacity of any Memory Stick flash media card on the market. At one-third the size and half the weight of the standard-size Memory Stick card, the Sony 4GB PRO Duo media is designed to store large amounts of rich, multi-media content, including movies, music and high-resolution digital photos. The new media card is compatible with a wide selection of currently available devices, including Sony’s Cyber-Shot T Series and W Series cameras, Handycam camcorders and the PSP system. The 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media card will be available in July for about $250.

Sony Cybershot DSC H5 digital camera : Sony is expanding its high-zoom digital still camera line with a new Cyber-shot model that is sure to zero in on the subjects you most desire. Clad in black and silver, the new Cybershot DSC-H5 model has a 7.2-megapixel CCD imager and extra-large, three-inch LCD screen. The DSC H5 flaunt Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 12x optical zoom lenses and focal length ranges of 36 to 432 millimeters (35 mm equivalence). “High-zoom cameras are one of the fastest-growing segments in the industry,” said James Neal, director of digital imaging products at Sony Electronics. “They are powerful enough to get those hard-to-see distant shots, and have the easy-to-use functionality of point-and-shoot cameras.

Sony Cybershot DSC W100 digital camera : Sony rounds out its new W-series line of digital still cameras with the top-end model Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W100. “The Sony DSC W100 features intelligent functions that work behind the scenes, said James Neal, director of digital imaging products at Sony Electronics. “Users can focus on those moments of inspiration that make great photographs without the hassle of worrying about camera settings.” The Cybershot DSC W100 model packs in an eight-megapixel imaging sensor, and has a compact metal body with a stylized finish in black and silver. It features a manual exposure mode with extended control for up to 46 steps of adjustable shutter speeds (30 – 1/1000 sec.) and two steps of aperture control.

The camera incorporates precision Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lenses; MPEG1 movie recording; high-light sensitivity settings; and a mode dial to quickly switch among photo, video, and preview.

Sony Cybershot cameras at PMA 2006 : According to a publication on the Sony Centre website - www.sonycenter.lu - we may soon expect new Sony Cybershot digital cameras to be announced. PMA 2006 is getting closer so we would not be surprised if the introduction is made this week. The site mentions the Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 model. According to the (unofficial) information the Sont DSC-H5 features 7 Megapixels, Super Steady Shot, a large 3-inch LCD display and a 12x Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens. The Sony Cybershot H2 is another new model featuring 6 Megapixel, 2-inch LCD and 12x Carl Zeiss optical zoom. Other models that are mentioned are the Sony Cybershot DSC-W100, Sony Cybershot DSC-W70 and the Sony Cybershot DSC-W40 cameras.

Sony HDR-HC3 HDV 1080i Camcorder : Changing the notion that high-definition video recording is for "advanced videographers only" Sony today announced the HDR-HC3 HDV 1080i Handycam camcorder. Compared to its predecessor, this new, high-def camcorder is 26 percent more compact, packed with easy-to-use features, and more affordable. "People are more savvy about high-definition television, have experienced its visual impact, and now they want the same `wow factor' for their own home movies," said Linda Vuolo, director for camcorder products at Sony Electronics. "Sony has made great strides in creating the consumer HDV market over the past two years and now we are expanding it even further."
