Nic Rossmüller : 2006-12-09 13:02:00
Samsung Trace t519 : Skyworks Solutions, Inc., an innovator of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors enabling mobile connectivity, announced that its Helios II EDGE radio is supporting Samsung's Trace t519 handset, a high-speed connectivity mobile phone sold exclusively by T-Mobile. Since the Helios architecture effectively cuts the radio frequency (RF) board space in half, the Trace comes packed with multimedia features including Bluetooth, an MP3 player, a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture technology, and an external memory slot - all within a handset just .33" thick. A wide-screen and landscape-oriented display make viewing messages, photos and videos a user-friendly experience.

Samsung mobile phone LCD screen

Nic Rossmüller : 2006-12-04 18:38:00
Samsung mobile phone LCD screen : Samsung Electronics Co., announced that it has developed the thinnest reported LCD panel, one no thicker than a credit card at 0.82mm, which is 0.07mm thinner than the panel previously reported to be the world's slimmest. The company also announced that it has developed a new mobile technology, which it is calling "i-Lens," for integrating the entire panel assembly, including a protective layer, into a single, thinner module that is more shock-resistant and easier to read than conventional panels. To achieve the slimmer package size, Samsung's Mobile Display Team redesigned the light guide plate subassembly and the glass substrate, which accounted for most of the LCD module's thickness.

Samsung 16 chip multi stack package technology

Nic Rossmüller : 2006-11-12 20:58:00
Samsung 16 chip multi stack package technology : Samsung, the world leader in advanced memory technology, announced that it has developed the industry’s first process to enable innovative production of a 16-chip multi-chip package (MCP) of memory. The new MCP technology supports the industry-wide demand for small form factors and high-densities that will accommodate multimedia-intensive user applications. Samsung’s new 16-chip MCP technology, when applied to 8Gb NAND flash chips, can enable up to a 16 gigabyte (GB) MCP solution. Advanced multi-chip package technology requires a combination of key processes such as wafer thinning technology, redistribution layer technology, chip sawing technology and wire bonding technology.

Samsung SGH-P310 : Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in telecommunication network systems and handsets, launches the Samsung SGH-P310 to the world. Samsung X820 review

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-10-29 19:29:00
Samsung X820 camera phone review : The Samsung P300 was both innovative and successful, but now Samsung has now gone a step further and taken the lead with the Samsung SGH-X820, which at 6.9 mm is the slimmest phone in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if other manufacturers go down this path and manage to spur Samsung on to even greater achievements. You cannot believe how thin the Samsung X820 is until you have held it. Next to the slim design, Samsung has managed to boost the X820 with a 2 Megapixel digital camera, with a maximum photo resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. I tried the Samsung SGH-X820 out for a while and will discuss its functions and characteristics in the following mobile phone review.
