New SD flash memory card launched by Panasonic

Nic Rossmüller : 2006-06-11 15:07:00
New SD flash memory card launched by Panasonic : Panasonic is pleased to announce today that it will launch a new SD Memory Card lineup compliant with the Class 2 SD Speed Class specification designated by the SD Card Association. Sales of the new lineup are scheduled to begin in August 2006. The SD Speed Class specifications were established to standardize data transfer speeds (Class 2, Class 4, and Class 6, with guaranteed increases in speed from one class to the next), instead of relying on the different standards of individual manufacturers. Today’s digital devices increasingly demand stable recording of streaming data such as MPEG2 video, and the SD Memory Card has already been adopted by a wide range of such devices.

Mark Peters : 2006-03-09 19:00:00
Panasonic 4GB SD memory card : Panasonic announced a new, high-capacity SD Memory Card, the Panasonic 4GB SDHC card. The new specification of the 4GB SD card expands SD card capacity beyond 2GB, to meet the memory-hungry requirements of a new generation of audio/video and telecommunications devices, from camcorders to cell phones and computers, digital still cameras to plasma televisions and PDAs, among others. Today’s digital devices require expanded memory capacities to accommodate large video, audio and database files. The Panasonic 4GB SDHC card meets the memory needs of these products, including those which use the memory-intensive FAT 32 file system. The Panasonic 4GB card also guarantees a minimum SD Speed Class Rating.
