Ilse Jurriën : 2006-03-28 01:31:00
Olympus E-330 Architecture Pro kit : Olympus will introduce the Olympus E-330 Architecture Pro kit to accompany the sales start of the Olympus E-330, and thereby provide customised, professional solutions. Key element in the kit is, of course, the Olympus E330 DSLR body, a remarkable feat of technology. It is the world’s first digital SLR to provide continuous live previews. Now, instead of being forced to frame compositions by looking through the viewfinder, photographers have the freedom of framing while looking at the live preview on the camera’s large 6.4cm HyperCrystal LCD. Extending usability even further, the screen can be tilted up 90° and down 45° to provide unparalleled shooting and framing ease.

Live MOS Sensor technical information from Olympus

Mark Peters : 2006-03-07 22:36:00
Live MOS Sensor technical information from Olympus : With the introduction of the Olympus E-330 digital SLR camera we get acquainted with a new technique. Today's digital cameras incorporate a diversity of images sensors. The Live MOS Sensor that is used by the new Olympus E330 DSLR camera offers image quality comparable to a Full Frame Transfer (FFT) CCD sensor with the low power requirements of a CMOS sensor, and is noteworthy for its high-quality imaging capabilities over an extended period of time. Simplified circuitry that reduces the distance from each photodiode to its corresponding on-chip micro lens assures excellent sensitivity and image quality even when light strikes it at a high angle of incidence.

Leica joints FourThirds System

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-02-26 20:15:00
Leica joints FourThirds System : Olympus Imaging Corp. (President: Masaharu Okubo) is pleased to announce the participation of Leica Camera AG of Germany in the FourThirds System standard for digital SLR cameras. Olympus has encouraged other manufacturers to participate in this open standard since it was first established, and will continue to promote its widespread acceptance in the future. The FourThirds System standard was established to facilitate the development of digital SLR camera systems that are designed and developed from the ground up to maximise the performance potential of digital imaging technology. The standard uses a 4/3” image sensor that makes it possible to realise the high image quality and high mobility that are

Olympus E-500 review

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-02-18 17:29:14
Olympus E-500 review : At this moment Olympus is the sole manufacturer to utilize the FourThirds system. A welcome addition will be Panasonic's model, which is said to follow this year. At the PMA 2006, both Panasonic and Olympic will reveal a great share of details and developments. Consequently, the system's range will be considerably broadened. Its pioneer Olympus is doing quite an impressive job establishing the FourThirds system, to which its third model once again greatly contributes. They bring us the Olympus E-500, a very compact camera that, contrary to the E-300, comes with a regular prism viewfinder. We've had the opportunity to test the Olympus E-500 extensively. The results can be read in our Olympus E-500 review.

Olympus E-330 Evolt preview

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-02-14 19:00:00
Olympus E-330 Evolt : In the market for digital SLR cameras Olympus invested big-time in its FourThirds system. It was announced some years ago and now already some generations have passed by, and we got one of the latest Olympus innovative products in the office, the Olympus E-330 Digital SLR. Although we had a pre-production sample in the office, we have been able to give you an inside look and feel of this interesting digital SLR concept. 7.5 Megapixels, compact body and interchangeable lenses are not spectacular these days, but the live LCD preview mode is one unique feature on today's interchangeable d-SLR cameras. The Olympus E-330 is the first d-SLR with a real live view mode; I am pretty sure more will follow… PMA 2006 will be interesting.

Olympus Mju 700 preview

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-01-29 17:00:00
Olympus Mju 700 preview : A month before the PMA 2006 show starts Olympus introduced a new line of Mju digital camera models. Today we bring you a preview of the new Olympus Mju 700 digital camera. The Olympus Mju 700 has a stylish design and waterproof exterior housing (weatherproof equivalent to the IEC standard publication 529 IPX4). The sample we received comes in silver, but other colours (Sunset Orange, Midnight Black and Twilight Blue) will be available as well. Apart from the stylish housing the new Olympus 700 offers a great live view on the high-contrast LCD display. Olympus incorporated the BrightCapture technology to achieve the best result under dim and difficult light conditions.

Olympus E330

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-01-26 06:00:09
Olympus E330 digital camera : With the new Olympus E330, the specialist in opto-digital technology once again expands the horizons of photography. For the first time, the comfort and flexibility of continuous live views directly on the LCD is available to digital SLR users. This ground-breaking innovation enables framing of shots without the need to look through the ocular. Users can therefore see what’s going on around them while they shoot, which is a significant advantage for reportage or sports photographers - as well as in other situations where it is difficult to frame using the viewfinder, such as under water. Thanks to a tilting, multi-angle LCD measuring 2.5”/6.4cm, the Olympus E330’s versatility is extended even further.
