Ilse Jurriën : 2006-03-02 17:55:00
Oki's face recognition selected by Vodafone : Oki Electric Industry announced that Vodafone K.K., a leading mobile operator in Japan and a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc, has selected Oki's face recognition middleware for their mobile phones. The Face Sensing Engine enables instant face recognition using the camera on mobile phones to restrict access to mobile phones. Face Sensing Engine will be embedded in the Vodafone 904SH (manufactured by Sharp), which is planned for launch in late April 2006 and future Vodafone K.K. 3G mobile phones to be launched in Japan. Oki's Face Sensing Engine is considered to be more convenient than password-protected phones, in which users need to input the data to release the lock.

OKI Printing Solutions C5400

Ilse Jurriën : 2006-02-12 17:00:00
OKI Printing Solutions C5400 : OKI Printing Solutions (the brand name for Oki Data Corporation), today announced a partnership with Anoto. The first integration project is already underway with the C5400, the first color printer to complete the Anoto Print Qualification Program. The Anoto solution is similar to using a digital pen and paper as an interface to the digital world, as the pen stores everything you write in ink onto its digital memory. The paper is printed with the Anoto dot pattern (it is not visible to the eye, but gives the paper a slightly off-white color) and the pen takes a digital snapshot of anything written on the page. Anoto is the only company that licenses the dot pattern technology.
