Font collection milestone at Monotype Imaging : For the first time, more than 100,000 font products are available from Monotype Imaging’s e-commerce storefront. The abundant selection features a variety of products from single fonts to bundled packages in standard PostScript, TrueType and OpenType formats for Macintosh and Windows platforms. “Four years ago, we set out to expand the inventory” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Monotype Imaging. “In a relatively short period, we’ve more than quadrupled the number of products offered. Monotype Imaging scalable Fonts for Mobile Phones : Monotype Imaging Inc., is introducing a suite of scalable fonts for mobile phones - the first in the industry to offer handset manufacturers, wireless operators, content providers and publishers the ability to integrate into their products readily available typefaces. Tailored for exceptional viewing on small screens, the fonts are based on the OpenType format and are being released as theme-based designs that allow users to imbue their cell phones with personality traits ranging from "exotic" and "friendly" to "athletic" and "powerful." Peter Simone joins Monotype Imaging board of directors : Monotype Imaging, a global provider of font and imaging technologies, has appointed Peter J. Simone to its board of directors. Simone is a technology industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience at the executive and board levels. He will also serve on the company's audit committee. "We're pleased that Pete has decided to join Monotype Imaging's board of directors. He brings an important combination of industry knowledge and financial acumen to our board," said Robert M. Givens, president, chief executive officer of Monotype Imaging. "Pete's experience in running a software company and his financial background as a CPA will be of great value to Monotype Imaging."

Monotype Imaging provider of font & imaging software : Monotype Imaging, a global provider of font and imaging software technologies, has entered into an exclusive agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, Inc. (MERL), to license to customers its Saffron type rendering technology. Saffron technology, which has been previously licensed by MERL to Adobe Software Systems Incorporated. for improving text display quality in programs authored using current and future releases of Adobe's Macromedia Flash product, will be integrated into future versions of Monotype Imaging technologies designed for manufacturers and developers of consumer devices, such as mobile phones, digital television systems and set-top boxes.
