Employing the company's OLED-XL technology, the SVGA-3DS microdisplay offers both analog and digital signal processing in a compact (0.44-inch) display with both analog and digital interface capability imbedded, making it an even more affordable, easy-to-integrate solution for many virtual imaging systems. "Many existing and potential customers are eager to begin characterizing this next-generation OLED technology for their applications," said Susan Jones, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, eMagin Corporation. "These kits give them a jump start."

Konica Minolta OLED display development : Konica Minolta Technology Center, Inc., a Konica Minolta Group's research and development company and Universal Display Corporation, the company that's lighting the way in developing and commercializing OLED technology for flat panel displays, lighting, electronic communications and other opto-electronics, announced the strengthening of their collaboration to incorporate Universal Display's proprietary PHOLED phosphorescent OLED technology into Konica Minolta's white OLED devices. On June 30, 2006, Konica Minolta announced that it had successfully developed a white OLED with a power efficiency of 64 lumens per watt, which is four times the efficiency of standard incandescent bulbs.

Delivering a presentation titled “Samsung’s Business and Technology Strategy for Continuous Growth” at Flat Panel Display International 2006, Mr. Souk said the greatest effects of future TV development will be felt in the area of full-HD content as well as with the media and players capable of delivering such content. As the industry continues to experience competition, Mr. Souk said that industry leadership requires a commitment to advanced devices.

Samsung 7 inch WVGA LCD display : Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world's largest provider of thin-film transistor, liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) panels, begins producing seven-inch LCDs in September to take the lead in the WVGA display market for mobile devices. The seven-inch LCD is well suited for high-end multimedia products such as handsets for digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), portable multimedia players (PMPs), portable DVD players, and portable navigation systems. Samsung plans to expand the seven-inch LCD production capacity to 10 million units by 2007. The company unveiled its seven-inch display at the International Meeting on Information Displays, held in Daegu, Korea last month.
