M-SIM MegaSIM cards for mobile market : M-Systems, a leader in smart personal storage, and its subsidiary smart card company, Microelectronica, today announced their expanded 2006 M-SIM product roadmap including the M.MAR series of 2G and 3G SIM cards and the MegaSIM series of high-density SIM cards. As the first part of the new offering, the companies further announced today the planned availability of 512 megabytes M-SIM MegaSIM series SIM cards for pilots with mobile network operators (MNOs) in Q2 2006 and planned commercial availability in Q3 2006. 1 gigabyte M-SIM MegaSIM series SIM cards are planned for rollout by the end of 2006.

TransChip CMOS camera module for phones at 3GSM : TransChip, a leading developer of integrated camera solutions for camera phones, announced that it will demonstrate a variety of auto-focus and optical zoom AlgoCam TC7040 camera solutions at 3GSM World Congress this coming week in Barcelona, in Hall 2, booth E09/E10. TransChip's new auto focus and optical zoom features enable camera phones to achieve the same performance and picture quality that, to date, has only been attainable with digital still cameras. The company recently announced the release of its second generation fully programmable, CMOS camera module, the TC7040, which offers exceptional color sensitivity in low lighting conditions.

Kodak mobile imaging technology at 3GSM 2006 : At 3GSM 2006, Kodak will demonstrate technology innovations that provide a mobile imaging infrastructure to network operators and handset manufacturers. Samsung i300 mobile phone supported by Cornice HDD storage : Cornice Inc., an innovator in consumer storage solutions, announced in January that Samsung has included the 3.0-gigabyte Storage Element (SE) in the production of its SGH-i300 embedded music smartphone. The phone was announced during CeBIT 2005 and is available on retail shelves for European customers as of November 2005. This phone is aimed at bringing audio, video, personal storage, and traditional voice communications together in one device. Cornice will provide for Samsung's line of high storage capacity mobile phones. Previous models include the SPH-V5400, with a 1.5-gigabyte Cornice SE, and the SPH-V7900 video camera phone, with a 3.0-gigabyte Cornice SE.
