Kodak Cameras receive 2006 iF Product Design Award : Three digital imaging products from Eastman Kodak Company have received the prestigious iF Seal of Design Excellence, announced this week in Hannover, Germany at the CeBIT 2006 technology fair. The Kodak Directview DR7500 System, along with the Kodak EasyShare P850 and EasyShare P880 digital cameras, earned the highly regarded 2006 iF Product Design honors. Showcased at the annual CeBIT technology fair in Germany, the iF Design exhibition showcases a range of cutting-edge product designs, ranging from cellular phones to sleek luxury sports cars. In 2006, the design organization said, just under 2,000 products submitted from 37 countries competed for an iF award.

Kodak announced the Kodak Scan Station 100. Designed to increase office productivity, the Scan Station 100 enables users to convert paper documents-color, black-and-white and grayscale-into digital images for; sharing via e-mail, routing to network folders, sending to networked printers or copiers and saving on portable USB flash drives. The Scan Station 100 has an price under $3,000 and is backed by Kodak Service & Support.

This new model will be accompanied by the Kodak Nexpress 2100 plus digital color production press, another recent addition to the family. Both presses feature a highly modular platform for maximum configuration flexibility, making them easily adaptable for the ever-changing commercial print market requirements. Customers are able to upgrade their presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, add a fifth imaging unit to expand printing services, and attach an in-line booklet maker.

Kodak receives 2006 NAPL industry Award : Eastman Kodak Company is the recipient of the 2006 Industry Award of NAPL, the trade association for excellence in graphic communications management. Kodak's Graphic Communications Group (GCG) received the award on March 3 at NAPL's Top Management Conference in Orlando, Florida. Chartered in 1933, the Paramus, New Jersey based not-for-profit national trade association presents the NAPL Industry 2006 Award annually to a graphic arts manufacturer or supplier company in recognition of specific, noteworthy contributions to the industry. Recipients must demonstrate fair and honest business practices, and have a record of providing quality products and services.

Kodak ISS interview : At the Photo Marketing Trade Show (PMA 2006), we have interviewed Michael DeLuca, marketing manager image sensor solutions (ISS), from Kodak. ISS is developing all kind of image sensors. At this moment the small image sensors for mobile imaging devices are right in the spotlight, but also the large image sensors like the Kodak KAF 39000 39 Megapixel sensor, used within Phase One products, or the image sensors for FourThirds digital SLR cameras are interesting new products from ISS. Normally you only see the outer technique from the digital camera, but the actual device that captures the image at first is very interesting too. It is pretty amazing seeing the devices getting smaller and resolution increasing.
