Digital Camera Satisfaction Study : For the third consecutive year, Kodak EasyShare digital cameras in the $200-$399 price range have ranked highest in customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Digital Camera Satisfaction Study. Since the J.D. Power and Associates Digital Camera Study was introduced in 2004, Kodak is the only brand to rank highest in a single category for three straight years. The Digital Camera Satisfaction Study was based on 5,800 responses from consumers who purchased or received a digital camera between January and July of 2006. "We're very pleased with this ranking, since it's based on customer experience and further solidifies our reputation for quality and ease of use," said Kodak’s vice president.

Kodak OLED Technology : Eastman Kodak Company, a pioneer in OLED, today announced a licensing agreement with Tohoku Device Co., Ltd. Tohoku Device plans to incorporate Kodak's organic display technology into white OLED modules for use as backlights in displays. Tohoku Device joins more than 15 companies that have licensed organic display technology from Kodak. "This is a great agreement for Kodak. The agreement between Kodak and Tohoku Device validates the superiority of Kodak display technology for a variety of applications," said Andrew Sculley, general manager, OLED Systems and vice president, Kodak Display Business. "We are delighted that Tohoku Device has chosen Kodak as a major provider of this innovative technology."

US newspaper uses Kodak thermal CTP solutions : Four North American newspaper printers are going digital with Kodak thermal CTP (computer-to-plate) solutions. The Denver Newspaper Agency purchased five Kodak Trendsetter News 200 platesetters and Kodak Thermalnews digital plates. Newspapers in Abilene, Tex., Anderson, S.C., and DeKalb, Ill. also purchased Kodak digital solutions to accelerate their printing operations. CTP technologies enable printers to write the image of a page from a digital file directly to the printing plate. This method eliminates traditional steps of generating a film image to make a plate. Plates are then affixed to a press to output the printed pages in a newspaper.

One-time-use camera study : As millions of people head to the beaches, mountains and lakes to enjoy the last few weeks of summer, many will want crisp, clear pictures to remember their adventures. But many hesitate to use a more expensive camera during rugged activities or at the beach. According to a recent survey by Eastman Kodak Company, 90 percent of Americans believe that one-time-use cameras represent a great companion to more expensive cameras to capture quality images in those situations where they might not want to risk a more expensive camera. Nearly 60 percent of Americans own more expensive film or digital cameras, but still turn to one-time-use cameras when they either want to protect their camera or isn't available.

Kodak consumer digital cameras made by Flextronics : Kodak announced an agreement in which Flextronics International Ltd. will manufacture and distribute Kodak consumer digital cameras and will manage certain camera design and development functions. Under the agreement, Kodak will divest its entire digital camera manufacturing requirements to Flextronics, including assembly, production, and testing. Flextronics will also manage the operations and logistics services for Kodak's digital still cameras. Kodak will continue to develop the high-level system design, product look and feel and user experience, and will conduct advanced research and development for its digital still cameras. Kodak will also retain its intellectual property.
