Rock legend photobook for wounded military personnel : Some of rock and roll’s greatest performers are captured in a collection by renowned photographer Neal Preston. Eastman Kodak Company is supporting the exhibit by printing a commemorative softcover book of Preston’s photographs using its Nexpress digital printing technology. The book serves both as a catalog to spur print sales and as part of an invitation package sent to VIP guests for a private opening. All profits from the opening night print sales will benefit a new recovery program for wounded U.S. military personnel. Preston’s exhibit at the new Morrison Hotel Gallery kicked off on Nov. 9 with an invitation-only VIP fundraiser to benefit the Stevie Nicks Soldier’s Angel Foundation.

Kodak will also sponsor Newman's car in seven Nascar Busch Series races next year, and will be an associate sponsor of Penske Racing's IndyCar Series entries driven by two-time Indy 500 champion Helio Castroneves and 2006 Indy 500 winner and three-time IndyCar Series Champion Sam Hornish, Jr. "Our 2007 racing sponsorship program with Penske Racing will boost our brand visibility," said Kodak's Gregory T. Kodak photo gifts survey : As people look for the perfect holiday card to send and gift to give this season, it’s often the simple photo that touches people’s heart the most. More than half of consumers prefer receiving personalized photo greeting cards, with 84 percent saving those cards from family and friends, according to a survey conducted by Eastman Kodak Company. Also, more than one-third of consumers consider a personalized photo calendar the best “gift from the heart.” Recipients treasure photographs because they create connections. More than 90 percent of people believe that sharing experiences through photographs helps them bond with others. A nearly identical amount feel that it’s important to take photographs.

Kodak Prevails in Patent Suit with Ampex : Kodak announced that the Federal Court in the District of Delaware granted summary judgment on Kodak's behalf in a patent infringement lawsuit brought by Ampex Corporation, ruling that Kodak's digital cameras do not infringe a patent owned by Ampex. The decision ends the nearly two-year litigation in the District Court, although Ampex may appeal the ruling to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. "We believe that the Court reached the correct result," said Laura G. Quatela, Managing Director, Intellectual Property Transactions and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. "We have devoted significant resources to the research and development of our digital capture technologies."

Kodak elects Edwards and Meuchner as Vice President : Kodak Company announced that its Board of Directors has elected Douglas J. Edwards and Gerard K. Meuchner as Vice Presidents of the company, effective immediately. Douglas Edwards, Ph.D., 45, was named General Manager and Vice President of Prepress Consumables for Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group in April 2005. Previously Edwards worked with Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) as Vice President of Research, Business & Strategy Development. At KPG he commercialized many of Kodak’s market-leading Computer-to-Plate Products. Edwards joined KPG in 1998 from International Paper’s Imaging Products Division, having spent two years with worldwide responsibility for technology and product.
