Mobile phone image quality : Flextronics Components Group, a division of Flextronics, and HP announced a five-year technology collaboration agreement to help mobile camera phone users capture photos with the same high quality they achieve from their digital still cameras. As part of the agreement, HP will provide an exclusive license of its image processing technology to Flextronics for use in camera modules, in return for a royalty. Originally designed for the award-winning HP Photosmart digital cameras, HP’s image processing technology will correct and enhance digital images in Flextronics- designed and manufactured camera modules. Flextronics’, will embed the technology into mid- and high-range camera-enabled mobile devices.

PayPal allows customers to pay for items using their credit cards, bank accounts and stored balances, without having to share their financial information when shopping on multiple sites on the web. The most comprehensive selection of HP technology products and supplies will now be available to PayPal’s more than 122 million accounts. HP property rights in Ink : HP announced that the company is working with national retailers Walgreen Co. and Office Max to resolve ink patent infringements found in multiple US stores of both companies. Inks found in both Walgreens and Office Max refilling service stations infringe HP patents. Both companies are cooperating with HP and are working toward resolution. "HP protects its intellectual property wherever infringements are found," said Pradeep Jotwani, senior vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. "Decades of R&D investment by HP have resulted in more than 4,000 patents related to printing supplies, allowing us to deliver the superior quality and reliable printing experience associated with original HP supplies."

Hazard: The digital camera can cause certain non-rechargeable batteries, such as the Duracell CP-1, to overheat when the camera is connected to an AC adapter or docking station, posing a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: HP has received one report of a camera catching fire, damaging the camera and its docking station, and causing minor smoke damage to the room. No injuries have been reported. Description: This recall involves the HP Photosmart R707 Digital Camera. The HP logo and the model name and number are printed on the front of the camera.
