SanDisk Cruzer Crossfire USB drive : Building on its strong entry into the handheld gaming market with high-capacity flash memory cards, SanDisk Corporation today introduced a gaming-oriented USB smart drive, the SanDisk Cruzer Crossfire, to serve the needs of console and PC video gamers. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas, U.S.A. The SanDisk Cruzer Crossfire will be available in four color-coded capacities: 512 megabytes (MB) in green, 1 gigabyte (GB) in white, 2GB in black and 4GB in blue. The drive comes with an attractive metallic lanyard that attaches to a snap-on cap. When connected to a USB-enabled device, the Crossfire’s indicator light pulses lime-green.

On-the-go consumers can now easily ensure they are travelling with the right storage disks. With their compact size and robust storage capacity, USB 2.0 Flash/Jump drives have grown increasingly popular for use in transporting office files, school notes, music and other data. But until now, however, consumers had no way to determine which flash drive stored which files unless the drive was first connected to a computer. Royal has now eliminated that task.

Lexar JumpDrive upgrade with PowerToGo : Lexar Media, Inc., a leader in advanced digital media and accessories today at the 2006 Consumer and Electronics Show (CES), Las Vegas, announced its plans to incorporate PowerToGo into its line of Lexar Media JumpDrive products, creating a portable working environment for its USB flash drive customers. PowerToGo will enable users to install and run most standard Windows applications from their Lexar JumpDrive. Using a customized solution provided by Ceedo Technologies Ltd., PowerToGo is being developed with an open standard. Lexar's Smart USB flash drive technology will be compatible with most consumer and electronic mobile devices as well as corporate computing environments.

Initially available in SD (Secure Digital) format, Kodak High Performance memory cards, offered by Lexar, are ideal for users of all SD format digital cameras with both still and video capture capabilities. Kodak High Performance flash memory cards will be initially available from Lexar in capacities of 512MB and 1GB this month. Larger capacity of the Kodak high performance memory cards cards will be available later this year.

PNY custom-imprinted USB flash devices : Keeping pace with the growing, multi-billion-dollar promotional products industry, PNY Technologies, Inc. announced today at CES that it has expanded its Build-To-Order (BTO) program to include several, new custom-imprinted USB flash-based devices including MP3 players, a solar calculator and credit card style USB flash drive. According to Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), the promotional products industry is a $17.3 billion business. The latest additions to PNY's BTO program target businesses and incentive/advertising specialty markets that desire a custom-imprinted device to promote a company, organization, product, service, special achievement or event.
