Samsung business card sized camera : Samsung Electronics enhances its Camcorder product range by bringing a new multifunction digital camera series to CeBIT 2006. The Samsung SC/VP-MS1x is a business card sized digital camera that provides users with portability and huge storage capacity. “Our customers wanted a lightweight, compact, easy to use digital stills and video camera that could be carried anywhere, yet that had a large storage capacity,” says Moon Soo Bang, Vice President of the Digital AV Division of Samsung. “Our team designed a slim, elegant product that not only takes the highest quality still pictures currently available on a Camcorder, but also built into it innovative functions such as flash memory.

Panasonic Lumix DMC L1 at PMA 2006 : At the PMA 2006 show where Panasonic held a press conference the new Panasonic DMC L1 was officially introduced. The new Panasonic L1 is the first Panasonic dSLR product that is the result of the cooperation between Olympus and Panasonic. The Pansonic L1 also reflects Panasonic in-house technologies where the Lumix series got famous for. The new Leica D lens system is also a system that has been introduced by Panasonic to be combined with the Panasonic dSLR system cameras. The new Leica lens is a high quality lens and is the only lens that meets the professional demand for high quality system lenses. The Lumix name will be a brand name that stands for high quality all round photo system.

Pentax 645 Digital medium format camera : It was around March 2005 when we were informed about the new Pentax Digital medium format camera. At that time there was nothing more to report on than the fact that Pentax Corporation announced the first Pentax 645 Digital medium format camera at the Photo Imaging Expo (PIE), held in Tokyo, March 2005. The expectation was that in 2006 Pentax was ready to introduce a final product or at least a pre-production model almost close to a final unit. Now, at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Show, held in Orlando, Florida, Pentax is ready to show their 645 Digital medium format camera to the public. Pentax 10 Megapixel digital SLR camera : Pentax recently launched a press release in which they unveiled a yet to be named Pentax 10 megapixel digital SLR camera body, tentatively scheduled for a formal launch in Autumn 2006. There is still little information about this new Pentax Digital SLR available, as the camera is still under development. But Pentax already showcases the new SLR camera, under glass, at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Show, held in Orlando, Florida. DaVinci Technology for Digital Camera Market : Giving digital still camera manufacturers the benefits of software programmability with the performance of hard-wired solutions, Texas Instruments introduced at the opening of the PMA 2006 show; DaVinci technology is optimized for the digital still camera market. The technology includes a new highly flexible processor, a software suite that simulates a full digital still camera system and third parties offering camera-specific algorithms. "Offering DaVinci technology specifically for the digital still camera market underscores our efforts to be more than a chip provider and shows our commitment to this space," said Kanika Ferrell, USA marketing manager, digital camera solutions.
