Nik Software agreement with Nikon Corporation : Nik Software, Inc. - a company that develops software solutions for the growing digital imaging and photography markets - announces that it has reached a worldwide agreement with Nikon Corporation that enables technological collaboration between the two companies to develop and distribute digital photographic software and imaging technologies. This agreement builds upon Nik's existing collaborative relationship with Nikon Corporation, which produced and distributed proprietary versions of Nik's award-winning Nik Color Efex Pro plug-ins for use in Nikon Capture software. As part of the agreement, Nikon has made a capital investment in Nik Software, Inc.

Micron purchases fabrication facility in Nampa Idaho : Micron Technology, Inc., today announced it has purchased a fabrication facility in Nampa, Idaho, from ZiLOG, Inc. Micron plans to use the facility for the final stages of image sensor production and other fabrication processes. Micron is the technology industry's leading supplier of CMOS image sensor solutions. Micron purchased the 8-inch wafer fabrication facility and surrounding land from ZiLOG and its affiliate, ZiLOG Mod III, Inc., for a total consideration of $5 million. ZiLOG Mod III received about $3.9 million for the facility and 19 acres of the surrounding land, and ZiLOG received $1 million for its vacant 19 acres at the site.

Rollei and Komamura form joint venture : Professional and advanced consumer photographers can now save money, time and avoid product obsolescence, thanks to a joint venture between Franke & Heidecke (for Rollei) and Komamura (for Horseman) to provide a family of integrated products that allow photographers to easily interchange lenses, backs, and accessories without having to outsource. The two companies will unveil a major part of their new product family at PMA. Among the products to be shown are the Rollei 6008 AF "Bundle," the Rollei X-Act 2, the Horseman SW-D Pro wide angle, the Horseman LD "movement" camera for DSLRs and the Horseman 6x17 Super Panorama camera. Horseman will also show a 3D stereo camera proto type.

Kodak and Bibble Labs announce technology agreement : Kodak and Bibble Labs announced a cross-licensing and co-marketing agreement that will allow both companies to offer new, improved products to imaging professionals that further strengthens Kodak’s ‘Connect with Pro Quality’ products and programs. Under the agreement, Kodak is licensing to Bibble two proprietary technologies, the Kodak ColorFlow Color Management Module and the Kodak ColorFlow ICC Input API. New versions of Bibble’s highly successful professional workflow software will integrate both of these technologies to create a best practices data path for generating finished files suitable for display and printing on Kodak output systems with minimal image adjustments.
