Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates shares his perspectives on technology and the industry's future in the March/April edition of CE Vision magazine, the flagship publication of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). After granting the exclusive interview with CE Vision, Gates was on hand to accept the Innovator of the Year Award at CEA's Second Annual Digital Patriots Dinner held in Washington, D.C. on March 15. The award was given in recognition of Gates' success in revolutionizing the way personal computers and Microsoft software now fit in to everyday life. Consumer electronics industry shows robust growth : The consumer electronics industry continues to drive the USA economy with robust growth throughout the entire employment spectrum, as well as record-breaking productivity according to a new report issued today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). "The data CEA released today underscores that America's consumer technology sector is influencing all aspects of our economy with strong employment growth and continued productivity gains," said Gary Shapiro, CEA president and CEO. "Our industry serves as a prime example of American ingenuity, with the industry employment picture giving every indication that the exceptionally strong growth will only continue."

Verizon will host comedian, Dana Carvey, at CES Unveiled on Tuesday, January 3, from 4-7 p.m. located at Innovations Plus at the Sands, in the Bellini Ballroom. CEA reports consumer electronic sales record in 2006 : Factory sales of consumer electronics will reach a new high of $135.4 billion in 2006, according to the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) annual industry forecast released today as the industry prepares to convene in Las Vegas for the CES 2006, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow. "The numbers say it all, the consumer electronics industry is hot," said Gary Shapiro, CEA's president and CEO. "Sales exceeded our expectations in 2005, totalling $125.9 billion and we're forecasting 8 percent growth in 2006." The complete report is available free to CEA member companies.
