CES International 2007 : CES keynotes, high-performance audio and home theater exhibitors, Innovations honorees, emerging technology exhibits, TechZones, and a range of special media events take center stage at the newest venue of the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - Innovations Plus at the Sands. To accommodate these must-see events, CES is augmenting the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) with halls B, C and D of the Sands Expo and Convention Center and portions of the adjoining Venetian Hotel. The 2007 International CES, the world's largest annual consumer technology tradeshow, runs January 8-11, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year, keynotes will move from their previous location at the Las Vegas Hilton.

CES 2007 CES : To highlight the fact that today’s consumers want to be entertained and informed when and where they want, the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) announced a new Anytime-Anywhere TechArena at Innovations Plus at the Sands. Produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the 2007 International CES is the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow and will be held in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2007. The Anytime-Anywhere TechArena is sponsored by Sling Media, makers of the Slingbox, a device that let’s you watch your home TV from anywhere. This TechArena will feature content shifting technology companies as well as The Download TechZone, ExpressCard TechZone, IPTV TechZone and Podcasting TechZone.

CES 2007 Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards : The International Consumer Electronics Show will host the Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for the first time next year, announced Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Peter Price, president and CEO, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards will be CES's opening evening event on January 8, 2007. The International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, will be held in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2007 and will celebrate the show's 40th anniversary. The National Television Academy is currently accepting entries for the Advanced Media Technology Emmy Awards in nine categories.


Donald Bitzer in CEA Industry Hall of Fame

Donald Bitzer in CEA Industry Hall of Fame : Dr. Bitzer, distinguished university research professor, will join industry inventors, executives, editors and retailers in the prestigious Consumer Electronics Industry Hall of Fame. He will be formally inducted at the association's annual Industry Forum in San Francisco Oct.16-18, 2006. Dr. Bitzer, along with two colleagues at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Robert Willson and the late Dr. H. Gene Slottow, invented the plasma display in 1960. This development was the precursor to today's high definition plasma TV’s. The team received an Emmy from the National Academy of TV Arts and Sciences for their efforts in advancing TV technology.

CES hailed as Largest Annual Tradeshow in USA : The 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's premier industry event for consumer technology, topped the latest Tradeshow Week 200 list as the largest annual tradeshow in the United States and Canada for the fifth consecutive year. "Being ranked at the top of the Tradeshow Week 200 list for the fifth year in a row is an exceptional honor and a testament to the dynamic nature and growth of the consumer electronics industry," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), producer of the CES. The 2005 CES was the largest in show history in terms of overall attendance, international attendance and exhibitor square footage.
