Canon sponsor of London Fashion Week : Canon, leader in photographic and imaging technology, today celebrated its role as principal sponsor of London Fashion Week with the launch of an exclusive fashion collection created using Canon’s world-class imaging technology. Pioneering British designer, Robert Cary-Williams, employed his trademark experimental design skills to create bespoke couture garments - titled ‘Canon LoveFashion Collection’ - using Canon technology at each step of his creative process, from image capture through to the printing of materials. The stunning collection was previewed today at the official London Fashion Week photocall where top model Lily Cole took to the catwalk in one of his creations.

Canon USA captures #1 brand leadership in copier market : Canon USA announced that the company has been named the number one overall brand leader in the color copier market and in every speed segment of the black-and-white copier market in the USA, according to Gartner Dataquest. (Source: "Printer Quarterly Statistics USA - Database," Camille Iorns). Canon held the #1 brand market share position in the color copier market for 2005, with 21% share. This is the 19th consecutive year that Canon has been the overall market brand leader in the USA color laser copier market. Canon captures #2 position on US Patent & Trademark : Underscoring its commitment to pioneering information and imaging technologies and innovations that revolutionize workstyles and lifestyles, Canon Inc. today announced that it has captured the number two position on the US Patent and Trademark Office's Top 10 Rankings for 2005. In 2005, Canon received 1,828 patents (Counts are preliminary and the final listing should be available from the US Patent and Trademark Office in April 2006), rising one position from its 2004 third-place ranking. Canon has been one of the top three patent-receiving organizations for the past 14 consecutive years, and number two for the total number of patents received in the past 10 years.
