Epson photo scanner receives EISA Award : The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), Europe's biggest multimedia press organisation, has singled out the Epson Perfection V700 Photo/V750Pro professional scanner series as best “European Scanner 2006-2007”. The Perfection V750 Pro is ideal for the professional photographer while the Epson Perfection V700 Photo is suitable for the photo enthusiast or advanced amateur photographer. The Photo Panel, responsible for judging and selecting the best products for the photography industry is made up from editors of 16 leading photography magazines across Europe. The reasons for choosing the Perfection V700/V750 series were based upon its features and professional performance.

Canon EOS 5D receives EISA Award : Canon has been awarded European Professional Camera 2006-2007 for the EOS 5D and Photo Printer 2006-2007 for the PIXMA iP6600D by the prestigious European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA). Canon Female Photojournalist Award 2006 : French photographer Véronique de Viguerie has become the sixth woman to win the Canon Female Photojournalist Award for her project on Communist Militiawomen in Nepal. The award, which includes a Canon grant of €8000, will be given by the French Association of Women Journalists (AFJ) at the 18th International Festival of Photojournalism Visa pour l’Image in Perpignan, France, on 9th September 2006. The Canon Female Photojournalist Award was initiated in 2001 by the AFJ and Guy Bourreau, Marketing Director of Canon Communication & Image in France. It aims to support and highlight the work of female photographers around the world.

All Roads Film Project award winner Larry McNeil : According to Brooks Institute of Photography alumnus Professor of Photography Larry McNeil, ‘The intersection of cultures is a sight to behold, especially if you are stuck in the middle of it.’ That is the premise of the photographic story that McNeil tells through his work ‘Keet Hit’, which recently received an international award from the All Roads Film Project sponsored by National Geographic to provide a global platform for indigenous and under-represented minority-culture filmmakers, photographers and artists. ‘Keet Hit’, a work that has evolved over years, sprouted from the same rich and mystical Native American culture that produced McNeil himself.

Xerox received three "Pick of the Year" awards from BLI for the Phaser 7760 tabloid color laser printer and the WorkCentre Pro 232 and 238 multifunction systems that copy, print, scan and fax. BLI conducts intensive competitive testing on document products, comparing overall performance, productivity, reliability and ease of use, among many critical factors."We put products through the paces with our rigorous testing methods," said Anthony Polifrone, managing director, BLI.
