Adobe strategic alliance with Verizon : Adobe announced a strategic alliance with Verizon Wireless to start a mobile ecosystem built around Flash technology that will allow developers to create new interactive mobile content experiences for Verizon Wireless customers. Verizon Wireless is expected to become the first wireless operator in North America to introduce Flash enabled handsets that use the technology to deliver a customized user experience. Developers will be able to create and offer new rich content, applications and data services based on Flash and targeted at these handsets. Simple to use mobile experience will accelerate customer adoption of new data services." said John Stratton, vice president , Verizon Wireless.

Adobe appoints new President of Creative Solutions Business : Adobe announced the appointment of John Loiacono as senior vice president, Creative Solutions Business. Now that Adobe & Macromedia are one company, Adobe is better positioned to push the boundaries of the digital universe. In this new role, John Loiacono will have responsibility for the development, delivery & marketing of Adobe's entire creative software portfolio, including flagship brands such as Adobe Creative Suite, Macromedia Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver. Based at the company's headquarters in San Jose, he will report to Shantanu Narayen, Adobe's president and chief operating officer.

Adobe Photoshop Services expanded : Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced the expansion of Adobe Photoshop Services through new partnerships with Iron Mountain, the world's largest provider of data backup/recovery and archiving software as a service, and MorePhotos.com, a leading e-commerce provider for professional photographers. Expected to be available in Q2 2006, the new services will enable users to protect their digital images and increase photography business profits through an online photo backup service and integrated access to online proofing and photo sales capabilities. The MorePhotos.com service is currently available directly from within Adobe Bridge.

Adobe software showcased at PMA 2006 : Adobe announced wide-spread support from the photography community and ecosystem partners for Adobe Lightroom Beta 2.0 and Photoshop CS2 software. With two open and extensible architectures, both applications allow for new, customizable workflows and innovative plug-ins and devices. "The inspiration for the development of Lightroom and the exploration of new directions for Photoshop has come from our customers and ecosystem partners," said Deborah Whitman, vice president for Digital Imaging at Adobe. "There has been a flurry of activity in the Lightroom Beta forums and it's exciting for us to watch the beta evolve as photographers help us build an application tailored to their needs."
