Adobe strategic alliance with Verizon : Adobe announced a strategic alliance with Verizon Wireless to start a mobile ecosystem built around Flash technology that will allow developers to create new interactive mobile content experiences for Verizon Wireless customers. Verizon Wireless is expected to become the first wireless operator in North America to introduce Flash enabled handsets that use the technology to deliver a customized user experience. Developers will be able to create and offer new rich content, applications and data services based on Flash and targeted at these handsets. Simple to use mobile experience will accelerate customer adoption of new data services." said John Stratton, vice president , Verizon Wireless.

Adobe appoints new President of Creative Solutions Business : Adobe announced the appointment of John Loiacono as senior vice president, Creative Solutions Business. Now that Adobe & Macromedia are one company, Adobe is better positioned to push the boundaries of the digital universe. In this new role, John Loiacono will have responsibility for the development, delivery & marketing of Adobe's entire creative software portfolio, including flagship brands such as Adobe Creative Suite, Macromedia Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver. Based at the company's headquarters in San Jose, he will report to Shantanu Narayen, Adobe's president and chief operating officer.

Adobe Software OpenHD alliance partners : Adobe Software announced the expansion of the Adobe OpenHD alliance - originally started with Dell, HP, Intel, and Microsoft - to include 10 additional partners delivering the industry's best capture cards, graphics and video accelerators, audio tools, and data storage products. These new Adobe OpenHD alliance partners, each of whom will be included in one or more certified turnkey solutions, include AJA, AMD, Blackmagic, Bluefish, CineForm, Focusrite, Huge/Ciprico, Matrox, NVIDIA, and Rorke. This expansion, along with the introduction of Adobe Production Studio, has enabled the creation of seven new Adobe OpenHD turnkey solutions supporting HDV to real-time compressed and uncompressed HD.
