The enhancements help better meet market demand for large full-color posters, banners and point-of-purchase signs by improving efficiency, reducing costs and decreasing waste. According to a study by Tim Greene of InfoTrends, the retail value of wide-format digital graphics in North America this year is $9 billion, and that number is expected to reach nearly $13 billion by 2009. Printers are increasingly using digital wide-format technology as an alternative to more complex and time-consuming production methods such as screen printing.
Xerox offers HP LaserJet compatible printer cartridge : Xerox Corporation is offering Hewlett-Packard customers a way to save money and be more productive with a new printing cartridge that delivers a 36 percent lower cost-per-print than existing HP cartridges and prints 10 percent more pages. The latest addition to Xerox's "It's Compatible" line of toner cartridges can be used in HP's newest black-and-white products, the HP LaserJet 4250 and Laserjet 4350 printers, which are targeted to office workgroups and entry-level production printing environments. The Xerox cartridge contains a microchip that supports HP "smart print" functions, enabling the printer to automatically recognize the cartridge and indicate when toner is low.
