Dennis Hissink : 2005-03-04 20:00:08
Essdras M. Suarez honored : It's often said that patience is a virtue. With so many photographers rushing to just get a shot that fits, patience is virtually non-existent in the fast-paced world of photojournalism. However, it's this illusive patience, and an unquenchable curiosity, that is often credited as the secret behind the success to one of America's brightest photojournalists, Essdras M. Suarez. This March, NikonNet's inspiring monthly, "Legends Behind the Lens," honors the work of Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Essdras M. Suarez, who currently works for the Boston Globe. To learn more about Essdras Suarez log onto NikonNet's "Legends Behind the Lens" series at http://www.nikonnet.com/legends.

DIWA Awards reveals its unique testing procedure

Dennis Hissink : 2005-02-20 23:55:00
DIWA Awards reveals its unique testing procedure : Today, DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association) discloses the secret behind its success story, the world's most comprehensive and reliable testing procedure for digital imaging products. Not one, but a minimum of four randomly selected test samples are tested, each by individual technical experts, to find the real truth about a product's performance. Get the inside story and be amazed. Too many "tests and reviews" on the Internet are worthless, often misleading more than guiding the reader. Lack of expertise is a major concern, but also lack of time seems to be a frequent factor. Many so-called "reviews" are merely a transcript of the manufacturer's own brochure.

900 million Camera Phones shipments by 2009

Dennis Hissink : 2005-01-17 00:00:02
InfoTrends/CAP Ventures projects that worldwide camera phone shipments will grow from 178 million units in 2004 to over 860 million units in 2009. By 2009, camera phones are expected to account for 89% of all mobile phone handsets shipped. Primary drivers behind this explosion are improvements in imaging functions (i.e. image sensors, zoom, auto focus); rapid declines in prices for this functionality; higher-speed wireless bandwidth; and easier-to-use handsets, services, and peripherals. InfoTrends/CAP Ventures' new multi-client study entitled Mobile Imaging: Technology Trends, Consumer Behavior, and Business Strategies explores this explosive market.
