GretagMacbeth color management wins TIPA Award : Gretag Macbeth, the worldwide technology leader in color management and measurement solutions, is proud to announce that they have received the TIPA award for their renowned Eye-One series color management solutions. 2005 is the first time that the jury has honored a color management category. Since its foundation as an independent, non-profit publishing group in 1991, TIPA has become, the largest imaging press association in Europe. Once a year the 31 member magazines from 12 European countries meet to vote for the “Best Photo and Imaging Products in Europe”. Product nominations are based on several factors including quality, innovation, improvement and ease of use.

Olympus Mju Mini Digital S wins TIPA Award : It’s the camera that’s almost impossible to miss. Its stunning weatherproof design, lustrous range of colours and impressive performance attributes make it clearly stand out from the crowd. And now, the 5.0 million pixel Olympus Mju Mini Digital S has firmly caught the eye of the TIPA jury as well and has been awarded the 2005/2006 “Best Innovative Design” prize. Each year, the TIPA confers awards to products and technologies of special distinction across a number of areas in the field of photography. The association membership comprises 31 publications across 12 countries. With the Mju Mini Digital S, the Olympus designers took little heed of the conventions of the past.

PASS Standard wins TIPA Award 2005: The New Picture Archiving and Sharing Standard (PASS) group, formed by Fuji Photo Film Co,. Ltd., Eastman Kodak Company and Konica Minolta Photo Imaging, Inc., has been awarded the prestigious Best Technology in Europe Award at the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) European Photo & Imaging Awards 2005. In September 2004, the PASS group announced its agreement to jointly develop a set of open standards for the consumer imaging industry, aiming at the storage and preservation of digital photos and motion images on CDs, DVDs and other media. The group’s intention is to enable digital file compatibility with future playback devices and preserving the pleasure of the consumer's photo experience.
