Sanyo Xacti E6

Dennis Hissink : 2005-08-15 22:12:00
Sanyo Xacti E6 introduction : Sanyo introduces the new Sanyo Xacti E6, an ultra-thin digital camera from the Xacti series. Apart from the 3x internal optical zoom the special characteristics of the Sanyo E6 are an impressive large 3-inch (7,32 cm) LCD display, MPEG4 format video recording and a so called Touch-Sensor. This new feature should improve the reaction of the Sanyo Xacti E6. The Touch-Sensor is in fact a short-cut to focus faster on a subject. By touching the release button on top of the camera the Sanyo E6 is already ready to capture the image, you can compare it with half-pressing a ordinary shutter release button of a digital camera. By integrating this new features Sanyo improves the reaction time by 0.05 seconds.

Sanyo reports loss on digital camera sales : Sanyo, the troubled Japanese electronics giant undergoing a three-year restructuring plan, reported a first-quarter net loss of 26.2 billion yen ($233.9 million) Wednesday on falling sales of Sanyo Xacti digital cameras and mobile phones. The red ink for the three months to June 30 2005 compared with profit of 2.33 billion yen ($20.8 million) a year earlier, the company said today in a statement. Osaka-based Sanyo, which announced a sweeping revival push earlier this month calling for massive job cuts, is trying to dig out from an unexpected loss last year brought on by tumbling prices and damage from an earthquake.

Mark Peters : 2005-03-16 20:40:00
Sanyo Xacti C5 digital camera preview at CeBIT 2005 : Sanyo didn't have much digital camera news, however the new Sanyo Xacti C5 was present and shown in trendy fashion colours. Personally I find the new Sanyo C5 not that attractive anymore. It seems like every event Sanyo is showing a 'new' version of the Sanyo Xacti C-series. The Sanyo Xacti C5 has a unique, but not new, design and features both high quality video and photo. The resolution of 5 Megapixels provides high resolution still images and the MPEG4 format video mode results in a video clip of 640x460 pixels (VGA) at 30 frames per second. By the way, the in-camera software can interpolate still images up to 10 Megapixels.
